I have to agree with deerhunter,POS! bought for my Nils and it won't stay on, over the weekend traveling across Lake Winnebago stop to set up, went to grab the auger and the cover was off? started to drill some holes only to find out I now have a dull head that now has to be sent to Frank frown

I can't speak for any other augers but for mine (8" SM lazer) the cover fits great.

Yes, sorry FB only,it makes it very simple to run these giveaways and to be fair.

I have a NILs Auger. I love the auger, but my one complaint is the auger cap is a little cumbersome. I would love to have a cold snap cover for it!

aczr2K, I don't think so? The 1 I bought was for SM&Nils, It fits fine but I think the rubber band is to loose.

And I may have been over board calling it a POS, the very next day on Bago took the 10" Pro4 and that cover came off(very rough traveling!)

Guess I'm just PO'ed I have to use the SM or Pro4 for week or so frown

Absolutely no issues with my cold snap cover for the Nils. Is it possible you have the wrong cover? There is no way mine is coming off once its clipped on.

Nope I know its the right one for my 10" Strikemaster. They sent me one and when it didn't work they said they had problems with some not fitting. So they sent me a second one. Its just a fraction too small so it won't snap on, but would be way too big for an 8". Wasn't going to try for a third time.

I had one for my 8" SM and it worked really great so when I went to a 10" I bought another. The 10" doesn't work worth a darn. When you pop it off it folds up so when you got to put it back on you have to open it up with your hands. The reason I bought it was to keep my hands away from the blades. I actually went back to using the stock cover. Maybe it's a problem just on the 10"?

I also bought one in the store and it didn't work either so after a call to Cold snap I was told some didn't fit right and was sent a new one from them. It fits fine, It just folds up so you can't just "snap" it back on.

Been having issues with my cover, specifically the rubber band coming off. Seen this thread and decided to contact cold snap. They are sending a new rubber band out, free of charge. That's top notch customer service which will get my money any day of the week.

I wanted to throw out an update, mostly on their customer service. When I saw this post it had me thinking and I did the "contact us" part on their HSOforum to tell them again about my problem. They contacted me the same day and sent me a new cover and also threw in a few extras. I can't say enough about how good their customer service is. Shocking actually! I wouldn't hesitate purchasing something from them if you are on the fence. They truly do stand behind their products.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
