gemNeyeJoe
I have an FL-8 and going to upgrade finally. Im sure this has been posted dozens of times, so I apologize. Vexilar or marcum? FL-22, FLX-28 or the LX-7? I hear the LX-7 is really the cats meow right now, but never used a digital readout for hard water yet. Any opinions would be appreciated, pro and con's, etc.
Esox_Magnum
Been more than happy with my LX 7'S. Really opens up the world under you. There is a learning curve but once dialed it it's amazing
hamms-scooter
Honestly I would try search on here . This question has many opinions and they will only be repeated... Check them out at stores and watch some videos and get familiar with them and then decide. Good luck
gemNeyeJoe
I know hamms, that why I apologized. I'm sure there is tons of info. I've been researching for days on these two set ups. I know I'll be blown away by both models, was just looking for some quick input by the HSO community.
hamms-scooter
I know I didn't mean to take the wind out of your sail.
bigbad401
I like my Humminbird but it is a Ford vs Chevy deal. Go to the store a look at them and decide which you like the best.
Northlander
Im a flasher guy so I use my LX-5's the most but my new LX-7 has really opened my eyes. I had a 6 before and sold it to get the LX-7 and couldnt be happier with it. I love running the flasher/graph side by side.
Fowlmouth
Vexilar hands down
Brad B
I would suggest a Vexilar FL-18 or FL-20. the FL-22 is also nice as long as you don't fish in water over 60 feet deep. My personal favorite is the FL-22 because of it 10 foot depth scale. I got a FLX-28 this year but didn't really care for it. I will be trading that to a guy for his FL-20 and some cash tomorrow. hamms-scooter
18 is there best unit. No glare... Their lines display the same from the 8 on up... Wider marks. What do u run on your boat?
Scott O.
Bird 45. Easy to use, digital depth, zoom, easy to see LCD screen, tough as nails. For $400, it's hard to beat its features unless you really upgrade to the $600 Vex FLX-28.
