Having wear problems in the last month on boat trailer. Specs, Bear Trailer with a Max Load of 2670 with 205/75D tires. Carrying a 17.5 G-3 with a 115 4 stroke Yaammie. Take a look at the wear Right side is going bald on inside and outside with no wear on center tread. Left side has a wear pattern I have never seen. Maybe some tire expert can help out. Keep tires at 50lbs. I have always had terrible tire wear on this trailer but never this bad.

Get the alignment checked.

The tire wear is called "checking" which means the steel belts are separating on the interior. Its caused sometimes by over inflation or poor quality tires. Get these replaced asap as the belts can come through the tire and cause a quick flat with bad consequences.

So do you think its alignment? Would a higher load tire help. Try to keep tire pressure at recommended 50PSI.

How would you align a trailer. Measured to make sure axle was same distance from common point.

Load I had the same issue with my crslisle tires. Got rid of that junk and got some good radials at Duluth Tire and 2 years later not 1 issue.

It wouldn't hurt to check for a worn wheel bearing. Just jack up that side and wiggle the tire.

I have had two brand new trailers manufactured by Shore Lander and experienced the same problem with the tires as you on THE FIRST TRAILER that I owned. I don't think it had anything to do with the trailer. I think it was all about the tires and proper inflation. I don't remember the brand of tires (NOT CARLISLE)on the first trailer but I think they were good quality as that is what Shore lander usually puts on their trailers. I think it was inflation because I tended to under inflate the tires to make it ride better. The most recent trailer from Shore Lander was purchased in 2002 and I still have one of those tires still on the ground. IMO, not a good idea and I will change that out to make it a spare this fall. I watched a video on tire life and was surprised that they recommended a six year tire life on passenger cars. So it should be longer on tires that are only used 6-7 months of the year??? Wrong. Even though that tire is not being used, it is aging

I have been pleased with Goodyear Marathons and one of the tires (old)that is on the ground was made in Canada and the other made in China. I was a little concerned that the tire made in China might be a dud but so far so good. They must be made to Goodyear specifications before they will put their stamp on the tire.

Wheel bearing issue causing the problem??? Maybe, but if you use Bearing Buddy's(SP)and the bearing is too loose, my experience has been the wheel will kick out the Buddy to the tune of $15.

Axle alignment?? Maybe, but I would think one side would be wearing a lot different than the other and you can measure the distance from the axle to the end of the trailer to check for correct alignment.

My first thought was low pressure the way the outsides were worn more than the inside but you said 50psi. Is 50psi the max listed on the tire?

My second thought would be overloaded, under rated tire.

Ya 50psi is recommended. I know see this whole tire is messed. One poster over inflated some under bad brand. Did measure the axle different points and its not the axle. Checked bearings fine. I think I am going to buy some name brand tires with a bigger load range than D get a digital pressure gauge and check every time rig is moved. Thanks for the input.

I had the exact tire wear on a trailer with my Tyee. I was worried about alignment of the tires. I bought new tires and they were great. Put many miles on them and never had the chopping problem with them.

Went in and told them about my wear problems and what they would recommend. Think I am going on 4 or 5 years with no problems.

I'm with everyone else on Duluth Tire. Bought Cooper Radials and tires on their 4 season and look great. I do rotate them each year and check the air frequently.
