Is NASCAR still fun to watch?

I wouldn't know now that most of the races are on cable. I was hoping that they would still have races on Fox this season but I'm left to watching a recap on ESPN every once in a while, and the couple night races like the one this week.

The last live race I went to was at Chicago. Probably the most boring race imaginable. At least at the short tracks the action is lively and the people in Tennessee, Virginia, and South Carolina are 'colorful.'

And if Stewart didn't take a swipe at him, allegedly, he'd still be alive too.

But, the narrative here is to push the blame on Ward and away from the 3X champion, so we'll build upon that by making such rules in NASCAR and continue to ask in feigned disbelief why Ward was out on the track.

Puh-lease.

LMIT, the rule in NASCAR to stay in your car after a wreck has been in place for years they just now decided to strictly enforce it.

Just saying if you dislike NASCAR as much as you seem, why bother and watch it. Just don't watch it and save yourself the heartache.

If there is something I do not care for, I surely do not do it and then say I don't like the name.

If you cannot change it and you do not like how they do it, why do you watch it? To complain?

Yes I did call you a troll after you made that one post that was like I said, out there. I am sure u know which one, hard to miss.

Yes, I do not understand how one does not like it as the cars do not look stock.

to you maybe since it fits your argument.

Whether the rule was new or if they just decided to start enforcing it now, the result is the same in that it was brought forward due to the Stewart incident and my main point still stands.

Is it starting to make sense to you yet? Good grief.

LMIT good grief is right. Sometimes you have to protect yourself from yourself.

Do I need a "caution contents hot" label on a cup of McDonalds coffee to alert me that what's in there might be hot? Or a warning on a lawnmower to "not now hedges"? Nope, but there are some dopes out there that do.

Who says I do watch it any more?

Well I will give you that, if you do not like it, then I would not watch either Dave.

I would agree NASCAR has had or are having some issues with all the rule changes in the past years and yes, some have left the sport.

Who knows, the next changes may be for the better.

I did not care for the new Chase rules but I guess they are growing on me.

I would not want to be the one in charge of the making of the rules, kind of like the MN DNR, no matter what change one makes, there will be some who like it and some who do not. Human nature I guess.

I am sure those in charge are changing the rules in hopes that things will get better or more interesting. least they dropped the COT car as it is now better than it was then. Those changes seem to have helped some.

One thing that is obvious is how many empty seats are at all these races. Man, even Indy had open seats and they only go there one time a year.

I know the economy really put a hurt on them a few years ago, but it seems that people are just not coming back. Once they left, they realized they could watch it at home, etc and save some serious coin.

I agree that the economy has hurt them and possibly still could be, Average Joe is still not spending like years ago.

With that said, some of the changes have hurt them at the track but people still watch at home.

I do have a few bud's that do not watch at all and use to all the time. For them, the Chase format chased them away.

Bristol was always a guaranteed sell out, not anymore, they still have a great crowd but not SRO anymore. It is not cheap to attend these races for the middle class and I believe that may hurt NASCAR more than they realize. We were at Bristol about 5 years ago and that was a sell out, or it sure looked like it. Placed was packed back then.

With the costs up, changes in rules and cars, which one hurts the most I have no idea but combine the 3 and attendance is surely down. We would love to go to Michigan for the races but not just for the race along, way to spendy, if we could work it into a trip, then yes.

Ill watch NASCAR still but I have to be doing something else too. I can't just sit in front of the TV and watch 43 cars take left turns all day. I still like nascar I just do other things while I watch. I really hate all the rule chamges , IMO its all to keep Johnson from getting number 7.

Probably the reason one has to ask, "Is NASCAR still fun to watch ?"

I was at the Mazda raceway laguna seca this weekend. Its pretty cool to be next to the racetrack but its very loud and difficult to have a conversation.

The company I work for, had a booth (otherwise I would not go on my own) but Im glad I went. I'm all about trying new things.

Almost everyone at the event was a Republican which I thought was interesting.

HMS is doin great! I wish #5 would do a bit better though. They should have just left the chase how it was to begin with. Now that JJ is dominating they have to make it so the one track in the chase that he hasn't really done his best at is the track it all comes down to...

Based on your posting history I'd have to disagree.

Do I need to rewind the tape and explain it all to you again? You've set up so many strawmen across this message board that you don't even know what you are arguing anymore, but I suppose you'd do that when you're losing all of them.
