Spoon Lures!

So do we now refer to inline spinners as "spoon lures" like a Mepps spoon lure or Roostertail spoon lure? Cumbersome, that guy gets the exasperated, "DUUUUUUDE" in my book! Then again, maybe if I had less knowledge of various tackle and the uses of it, I wouldn't own a bazillion rods, reels and boxes of tackle....I guess ignorance truly is bliss wink

"Spoon lure fishing is great for deep water fishing because as it is pulled through the water it mimics the action of a baitfish"

Ummmm....yeeeeaahhhh....

I could have sworn this was a bit from The Onion.

Hey that was my brother and they were talkin in general bout collecting spoons (worlds greatest aka Sutton Spoons). I have my stash but if your lookin for sumthin special that works well give one a try.

What is funny is that certain lures or calls have been tested over time and shown to have an edge. They command a little higher price on hsolist but are worth it. Sometimes a dork on an goofy commercial speaks a grain of truth even if he does call panther martins spoons.

I would let this guy call them spoons

2013 06 10 22 28 16 Dennis Mepps Demo: http://youtu.be/0aTnxKR9-u8

That old timer is a master of technique with that mepps.

I like how specific he is about everything, It reminds me of a guy that passed way last year who showed me the ropes of casting spoons from shore for king salmon. Everything was very very specific and detailed and we caught fish when no one else would or could.

Kind a like callin ducks with a call that you sanded the tone board just a little flatter and a reed cut just so or a crappie jig that is a particular color or length.

Always amazes me what the small details do to make a difference in foolin ma nature. Kinda what makes it fun.
