Kyle
Growing up, my Dad smoked meat and fish once a month or so, and had the charcoal grill going almost every night in the warmer months. I now own several grills, and two smokers. I love to grill and smoke meats and other things, but I'm not really sure why. Sure it all tastes great, most of the time, and I enjoy to cook inside as well, but there is something about smoking meat that I just can't put my finger on. I literally get excited like a kid when I know I'm going to fire up the smoker for the day; you would think its the deer opener or something! And what's up with this feeling of manliness that I get when throwing a pork butt or turkey in the smoke house? I throw on my weekend warrior clothes, fire up the smoke house, and patiently wait, sometimes, all day for a piece of meat to finish cooking just so I can eat it, all the while bathing in a strong odor of smoke...It's uneventfullness, and yet extraordinary pleasure boggles my mind.
