Knee boot repair

blue_healer_guy

Question

I have 2 pairs of GM 2400 gram thinsulate ultra boots that are less than 3yrs old. like the boot for fishing with the water and auger slush etc. They have crapped out on me right at the base where your ankles meet the foot. Cracks, weathered etc. I would like to get a few more yrs out of them as they are not cheap. I tried using rubber patches like for a bike tube but that didnt work. I would like to find some thicker goop thats sets up nice and going to use innertube strips as they are about 6 in cracks along the ankle area. any hints, thanks.

I guess I would try and figure out why the boots failed. Hard to believe that you could wear two pair enough to wear them out. I would also suspect that you are going to have a tough time keeping them useable with a 6 inch crack in the area you mentioned. Take them to a shoemaker and see what they have to say. Might be time to get a different brand/model.
