Mistermojo
As a 300lb 6'3 guy with back troubles, the bucket seat is not the most comfortable option for sitting on in the 949i hub house. Any recommendations for something that is comfortable, doesn't take up much room, and is easy to lean forward in to deal with fish, flasher, etc? FrontenacPike
I use a double bull ground blind chair. It doesn't sag like a folding chair so it's extremely easy to lean forward and grab fish at the hole. You will have to look into the weight rating..but it holds my 6'5 260lbs frame. Eric_Kruger
find some of the eskimo chairs they use in their shacks.....super comfy and fold down like a lawn chair!
McGurk
I prefer a 3 legged chair over any other "camp chair" for bending over and fishing in a house. This one is rated at 300 lbs here, and another listing for it has it rated at 325 lbs. Amazon 3 legged fishing chair
brad119
+1 on the double bull ground blind chair...three legs, backrest, 300# rating, solid...great if you walk and sit during deer hunting too. Cabela's has them on sale every now and then.
Mistermojo
FrontenacPike, are you talking about the one made by Primos that has a red and white bullseye on the backrest? It has great reviews on the HSOforum with the jungle river name.
Savage Brewer
I think he might be talking about the Primos QS3 Magnum chair, It has a "Double Bull" logo on its backrest.
Mistermojo
That is the one I am thinking of, just wanted to confirm its the one he was talking about.

DTro
Not sure who makes the Frabill 3 legged camp chair, but the one I have is junk. It sure looks like the one that was linked. Only lasted 3 trips.
MNCPRGUY
I am 6'1" 300 lbs. The Clam chairs are on their third season for me. No complaints.
NCLaker
I've got a couple of chairs similar to these and really like them. Very compfy, sturdy, and looks like they are rated up to 325#. Only draw back is they are not as compact when folded up so I typically only use them when I can drive my truck out on the ice. The description for the one pictured is "TROPHY ANGLER STADIUM STYLE DIRECTORS CHAIR ASG-SSDC-18"
Lusid
I own a chair like this and it cuts the blood off my legs so my legs go numb after a while... the hunt for a nice chair continues. Not sure who makes the Frabill 3 legged camp chair, but the one I have is junk. It sure looks like the one that was linked. Only lasted 3 trips. Farley
I'm a big dude (300+)as well and hate the camp chairs. Bought one of these when they were on sale and love it for ice fishing. the table on the side folds down and there is a nice pocket system on the other side perfect for tackle boxes and such. folds up flat. Going to figure out how to put a rod holder on it soon.
rockman
I'm a large guy as well, and have a Browning Kodiak chair. It is a four leg chair, and is rated for 500 lbs. Mine is a camo color pattern, but if I remember right it also comes in black. Sorry, don't have a pic of it right now. I got it from a site that has the same name as a river in South America. hawgchaser
I got tired off being bucked off chairs with legs so made my chair out of a folding stadium seat bolted onto a snap-on bucket seat. Total additional space is 15"X12"X4" when folded down. I leave it (them) on the bucket in my Otter when traveling as it tents the sled cover to shed the snow kicked up by the snowmobile. Lusid
@hawgchaser - love the concept and idea. I will follow suit and build one myself.
magnum mike
I'm bigger than the smaller kids myself. I have had the 3 legged chair for a few seasons. LOVE IT! Easy to get in & out and it doesn't scoot around on the ice. I primarily use a hub style house with no floor. Any chair with tubes as the footing are like sleds. Mistermojo
I think I'm going to try the Primos 3-legger, although I love the folding seat on the bucket idea! Thanks for the help everyone!

We do something very close to this... my tip on this idea is to bolt a square piece of plywood onto the bottom of the bucket. Sitting on the square is more stable vs the circle bottom of bucket. Less tippy and more stable... all good things! lol We have done this for years with all shapes and sizes of fishermen.. works great.
20lbSloughShark
6'5" 280 pounds, my favorite chairs are they standard steel folding chairs. When portability is an issue I just deal with a cheap folding chair, but I don't have back issues. I think a solid backrest is the key, and if you use a pad, I haven't found anything short of a lounge chair more comfortable than a steel folding chair. I would try sitting on one at your local store before buying from the jungle river and see what you think.....not all butts are created equal :-)
Acemac
I am 6'5" and around 400 the only thing I like is a bench with the back rest down for more seat room. If I had a hub I would have something like this to sit and store with. job Box I never use a back rest and hate small boat seats that are in most houses now. I like to take up some room. Thorney
I bought one of the three legged frabill seats a couple weeks ago. Only used it a couple times but seems very comfortable, and is easy in/out to service the lines. Cant say how long it will last or if 300lb will work, I'm about 230 and seems very stable.
