coombia21
My portable always seems to get some moisture build up on it while I am out fishing and I like to dry it out after every use but with out a heated garage this makes it kind of difficult. How do you guys dry out your houses with out a heated garage?

gonehunting
I set mine up in the garage and put the buddy heater in it. Crack the door and open the vents. Make sure to keep an eye on it for safety reasons. Doesn't take long. I've also used a box fan to move air and dry more quickly.

coombia21
I have dried my house out after just about every use up until this year. I feel that it is the same thing as drying your boat off when you leave the lake. Besides the fact that I like to keep my house nice, the last time I used it and wasn't able to dry it out the temp had warmed up and melted the ice in the shack and then it got cold and the shack froze shut. I am glad that I tried to open it up before my trip, otherwise it would have been a miserable trip. I will try putting the buddy heater in it and drying it out that way. Any other tips would be great.
aanderud
I've also used a box fan to move air and dry more quickly. Was the fan you used by any chance the same one from this thread: 20 inch box fan
gonehunting
Nope. Sorry. The motor works on mine but is about that size.

Finlander
If you can put it in a garage, put an electric space heater in it for a few hours. That is real dry heat and should dry all the moisture up! Works for me every time!
expl
I fish in my house four to five days a week sometimes more and have had the same one for 4 years,in fact I still have my old house that I have owned for 8years,both are still "nice" and in perfect operating condition. Carl Bjorgen
I have a 1-man flip that I use most of the time and don't dry it out. When I use my hub, I just set it up in my non-heated garage with an oscillating floor fan inside, vents and doors cracked. No heat at all and it dries it out just fine.
Lusid
Simple 10.00 fan in my hub does the job. I do not dry it out when it's VERY VERY cold. Just when it gets above freezing and the moisture can melt and then possibly turn to mold/mildew.
centralmnguy
If you have a electric in your garage just plug in a small space heater set on low with a small fan circulating the air. Leave the vents open and door unzipped so it can air out. Check it after a few hours should be pretty dry.Spring time hose it down good & set it out in the sun to air dry before storing. Use a cover so mice won't get in as easy etc.
Lawrence Luoma
I set mine up in the garage and then crank the sunflower in them. Just be careful and make sure it's in the middle and not touching a wall.
IcePro
Take a day off from work and go to the lake on a sunny day.1. Turn the heater on and fish2. Once the house has dried, pack up the house before the sun sets.It seems I only get condensation when I m fishing on cloudy days or fishing at night.
