New Decoy

Recommended Posts

I stopped at St Cloud on my way home from a road trip yesterday.

Picked up this little Brad Lange (I.S.G. Ice Shanty Gear) frog flipper yesterday so I had to give it a spin this morning.

Not even 5 min in the hole and it has teeth marks already...

Great decoy; it really brings them in... they come in too hot but it does bring them in.

OK this thread got me to thinkin about decoy choices. I have the standard decoys that are my favorites. I was thinkin about getting a whitefish type decoy. what are your guys opinion on using a decoy like that on a lake that doesn't have whitefish or tullies in them.

I was also thinking when spearing on lakes that get more pressure. what about using dekes that are unusual like a salamander or a frog type deke rather then the same nord/sunfish shape dekes.

just a post to start some conversation.

I have one white fish decoy and I have been using that one the most when I was out earlier this year and have had great luck whit it. I had a pike that was about 13-15 lbs crush the fins on it as it slammed it just after I jigged it.

Both lakes that I have speared it has brought pike in and both are non white fish lakes.
