MJ1657
I'm packing my truck and leaving any extra equipment behind. If anyone needs something let me know and I'll throw it in. I'll have a bump board for measuring fish. If anyone is late I'll have an American flag courtesy of Merk flying on the back of my truck. It should be easy to spot us. CFD200
Congratulations and thank for pulling me out of the snow drift. Thanks to everyone that got me un-stuck and it was a pleasure meeting you all. My sons asked me why I would want to go meet up with a bunch of people I do not know to go spearing. I told them that most people that spear are good guys and girls. Keegan, the son that came with me stated how nice everyone was. Mike thanks for grilling, you did a great job. I am still full. I will keep an eye on the first week of December for the Winny trip.Gregg
mrklean
Another great GTG good to meet a few new people and spear a different lake, also learned a valuable lesson today to measure a fish before it freezes or else that trophy might have gone home with someone else Cant wait for winne only 10 months away. Neighbor_guy
Yep, if you get a nice one you have to get it on the board quick. My "valuable lesson" would be to not trust your navionics app if you've never been on a body of water before. What I figured at 7' turned out to be 3'. So when you punch through 3' of ice into the sandy bottom it munches a blade in a real hurry. So with any luck my replacement blades will be here for the final weekend of the season. Neighbor_guy
It was a great time as always. New lake, new faces, and new fish. Now the count down to Dec 5-7 2014
MJ1657
I know what you mean Matt. Ice augers aren't meant to drill into the bottom of the lake. Imagine that....
Jaymo99
We really had a great time, next time maybe we can even poke a fish or two. thanks so much for welcoming us, the food was awesome. Sam didn't stop talking about winnie the whole way home, so we will definitely try to make it. Jayson
