I picked this one up at an antique shop last week when I was out and about. I didn't spend a lot of money on it, just liked the way it looked. When I buy an old one I like to see if I can find out anything about the person who made it. This one has me a little puzzled however. Figured some of you guys might have an idea of who could have been the carver on this one.

Any information is appreciated.

Here is what I know...

Its a wooden decoy with tin fins and a wooden tail.

The scales are likely burned in with a wood burner.

The eyes are tacks or decorative nails.

The paint is air brushed.

There is a #58 carved into the bottom

There is a name Stamped into the belly of the decoy along the anal fin. It is a signature, the first name is "John" and the last name starts with a "P" but is not legible, I cant tell if its Pearson or Peterson just that it starts with a p and seems to have about that many letters.

Any ideas?
