hamms-scooter
I am looking at getting something cheap for early ice and made me think of this. Lets see your atc, atv, sled... I am looking at Honda 185s to Honda 300. I want something small and light. I would only use it for deer dragging and ice fishing. Lets see your rig set up. Redlineracer12
I posted this in another thread, but this is my Honda Rancher that I use to tow the Yetti out when there's 12" of ice. Also use it for towing portables after about 8" of ice. I also have an 84 Honda 200S ATC that I use for deer hunting, works great for fitting in tight spaces in the woods and makes a good trail since you have 3 wheels knocking down the grass. They're super light so we usually just toss it in the back of the truck without a ramp and I still have room for more stuff (6 1/2' bed). Haven't had that one on the ice, but we have used my dad's (85 200S) with chains before and they work pretty good. Usually floats up on top of snow drifts with ease, where the ATV or pickup would break through from weight.

Hobey
I wouldn't recommend a 300. You will need power to go through the snow without getting bogged down.

We added steel cab, heater, LED light bar, dual auger racks, and a sweet wrap;) Nice setup. Wish we could use side by sides here in Dane County. We have to have flotation on our ATV's (black box on the back rack). The pic doesn't do the back rack justice. It's much larger in person. I will take better pics of my setup this weekend when I get a chance to take them.

Hobey
Quote:Do you have issues with your rack and counter-suspension with the support bars leading down to the frame near the hitch? The rack would be allowed to freely move, but the support bars would be fixed. Just curious as I though about this support system and I couldn't help but think of future issues. No. Everything is extremely solid. I can actually pick up the quad's back wheels off the ground by grabbing the rack extension and nothing flexes at all. I can take better pics this weekend if you want. The pictures on their HSOforum don't do the rack justice.
LakeDocktor
I would be concerned that it is solid. The top half of the ATV is moving with the suspension, but with the support bars connected before the suspension, there is no give. This would put more pressure on your ATV's rear rack as well as the back rack. All of these pictures are really making me anxious to get mine back from getting a wrap put on and put back together. I can't wait to post some pictures!
LeeMB
my tracks are American truck tracks. Great for on the lake. I have never had a track problem on the water, only a truck problem (LOL).
