SO I know this has been discussed a million times probably. But after buying two lemon Primos Game Truth 55 that didn't work out of the box I am in need of two new cameras. Should I just go with Cuddebacks and spend the money or is there something better for the money. Give me your input that's what I am looking for what has the best trigger speed etc.

Pics or video? IR or blackflash? If you want two cams, my suggestion would be to check out the Covert Mp6 or Mp6-Black. If you want one that can do it all, including HD video, check out the Covert Red 40, Black 60, or any of the Bushnell Trophy Cam or NatureView models.

I had an issue with my Truth Cam last year sent it back and they sent me a new cam and a better one that i bought, i know the Primos line isnt the best but there customer service is good. Are you cutting your losses and just gonna buy new ones?

I just bought a Covert Black Ops wireless, so far I like it. It sure is nice to have the camera sending me a text picture everytime, instead of my wandering in the woods everytime I want to see whats on my card.

Nope returned to cabelas and looking to get one that works. Primos are made by bushnell and due to the crappy customer service I received on brand new products that never work I will not spend a dime with either of those two ever again. Looking for something that can do everything. How does that text message one work?

If you want the best available, buy a Reconyx. But be prepared to pay an arm and a leg. The Reconyx have great reliability, unreal photos and the battery life is very good. But do you want to throw $500+ at a camera?

We have used Cuddeback too and frankly the reliability has been average at best. Most have been back to the factory for repairs. I bought a Minox at a silent auction at a banquet and it has been great so far. The battery life isn't great but the photos are awesome and its been reliable for the 4 months I have had it on the field. It hasn't seen cold weather yet.

I have also had good luck with Moultrie. The photos are OK, but the battery life and the reliabilty has been very good. The cheap Bushnells we have run do a decent job for the money.

My son and a friend had some Cuddeback's and I believe my sons were back to the factory numerous times. I do not know what he did with them but he no longer has them. From what I saw, very poor camera preformance and CS was questionable at best. From what I have seen with these camers, I would not but one even if they were half the price.

I forget the model but I have a couple Moultrie's and they have done the job very well for me for years. Pictures are pretty good and I would guess they have taken close to 7,000 pics each for the last 4 years. Battery life seems good as it will go all fall on 6 DD batteries.

I have another one I paid approx $130 for, a cheapy and that also has done a great job for me. I forget the brand and it is in the woods at this time so I cannot check. Battery life is good along with the photo's.

Unless one is looking for a high quality camera that does about everything, I have had very good luck with the less expensive models.

I would like to try one that sends photos to you, but I have not found one that will send those photo's 275 miles back to me. Do they make one that sends photos that far?

I have heard nothing but good about the Reconyx.

I have only had Moultrie and Cuddeback, have not had an issue with either. I bought 3 cheaper infared Moultrie's last year for bear hunting, they were a D-55 something or another. Good on battery life and take ok pictures. Little slow trigger for moving deer, and little blurry sometimes at night but for $99 was a good deal and was not to worried about bears eating them.

Otherwise I have 4 cuddeback attack ir's that I like and use, one cudde ambush that's good and 4 of the older capture ir's which work fine but little tough on battery. I have swapped out one with their fix with new service plan to upgrade and plan on another one or two shortly.

I tried the newest covert text message one, but not enough service in my area to use it. So I brought it back, but seemed to be a good camera and cheap plan that had no service agreement is which I liked.

The Covert Black Ops uses ATT wireless to send photos. It will send them anywhere by text, or email as long as you have ATT wireless signal. It takes the picture, then it takes about 1 minute from the time it took the picture, to send it to me.

You have to get a ATT go phone sim card, and get a card with a certain amount of pre paid texts. The 2 main plans are $4.99 per month for 200 texts, of $9.99 for 1000 texts, I went with the $9.99 because I usually get a lot of deer pictures later in the fall. There is no contract, so if you stop paying the $4.99/$9.99 per month, you stop recieving texts. Then you can restart it again next season if you want. The camera saves the pictures on the memory card, and sends you the first of the series of burst you set. So if you set it to take 3 pictures, it will send you the first one, and keep them all on the card. It also has a SMS option, that you can send commands to the camera with your phone, such as snap a picture, adjust the amount of bursts, picture quality, etc.. but if you set that option on, it sucks your batteries up much quicker, because the signal is always on, looking for commands.

To give my review of the camera, and I have just put it in the woods this past weekend, is,

The pictures it sends you, arent really high quality, because it sends lower quality photos, less pixels. But the pictures on the card are high quality. It takes 4-12 AA batteries, and says it they should last 4-6 months. The pictures are clear enough to see what is in them though. The camera will take 4/8/12mp pictures, depending on what you choose. I have a 16gb card in mine, and have it set on 12mp, and it will hold about 16,000 pictures. It will also take video on it as well, and it takes pretty good HD video during the daytime.

One of the nice things about it is it is a total dark/black camera, meaning it doesnt have any visisble light to the human eye when it snaps pictures. It works great as a security camera. I set one in my driveway at my cabin, and it doubles not only as a deer camera, but a security camera.

Another drawback I seen on this camera is if you are having the pictures sent to you, the fastest you can set it to take another picture is 1 minute, because it takes that long to send the photo. But that isnt a really big issue for me, because I would rather not have 100 pictures of the same deer anyhow.

Regular price is $349, but you can find sales with $50 off at times.

I have two Moultries that I had issues with, one within a year the other is three years old and you can't read the display. I switched to Reconnyx and am very happy with picture quality and battery life, I will buy another Reconnyx but not a Moultrie.
