T ice house?

Any T ice house owners out there? Looking for some ideas. I'm thinking of building a small T ice house on a drop down trailer so I can do some overnights with a buddy instead of just using a sled and porty and then running home or to the motel every night. The pic below I got off c/list it's not mine. Mine would have the sides lower so they could be used as seating and bunks. Looking for inside and wheel set ideas for a small drop down house.

A few years back I was at Eelpout and there was one that a guy built to slide in the back of his pick up that looked pretty interesting it had 2 bunk-benches each side and was T&G inside with a buddy heater and a couple fresh air vents I thought it would be a great house for a couple weekends I wish I would have gotten a few pictures it was well made and they loaded it with 2 guys and a high lift jack with a couple 4x4's

I always thought those houses were built like that so they would fit in the back of a truck. What would be the purpose of building one that shape and it being on a drop down trailer?
Small enough for two guys, be able to pull it with a small SUV, take it home each trip and go 70mph home! wink

Here's a few more pic's of houses I had seen. Don't really care for the color but the lime green one was really setup nice on the inside. Even though just making a squire box would give more fishing floor room, you still have to come up with some kind of bunks and seating, this does both. It would give more room then the porty I am using now as well but I could sleep over night in it. Just looking for something light and quick to set and move and pull down the high way at a good speed with a small SUV.

The real issue to work out is how to do some kind of drop down when the bunks are low on the side where the axle springs would have to come up when dropping. Anyone with an idea for that? confused

Hey how about a square one with slide outs like your t idea? Best of both worlds. Your idea makes sense good use of the space available. There is a company in royalton that makes houses with a retractable torsion axle maybe that would work for ya.

Not exactly sure but they are called ridge line. Its a removable torsion axle. It may work for ya. They have a HSOforum. http://www.ridgelinefishhouse.com/ there is contact info and pics. They don't have a t style like you are talking I was just thinking about the axle because its removable.

I have a ridge line 6.5x8 with a 2 ft v. WIth everything in it auger, depot finder ,chisel , everything I need 960 lbs. I can push it across the lake with no snow on it, with ease, you do need cleats on though. Easy to move, easy to lower to the ice. it was one best things I bought, right up there with an auger and a dept finder.

Haven't these exact fish houses been around for a few years I have been looking for an YouTube video that I saw about 6 year ago with a finished one. I remember them being from California and thinking that strange, who would make fish houses in CA? And then I see that's your location.

You are correct. I'm the same fellow still struggling to get this started. The weight is down from 300 lbs to 150 lbs, with new materials and new resin. I'm originally from New Ulm, MN, this is where my commercial building is and where I work out of. Would you like to be kept up to date on whats happening with the ice shells? or perhaps more pictures. Sincerely Bruce Adams
