A band??? Heck, I've hardly seen a duck in the last month let alone a banded one.

However, a buddy of mine shot a banded mallard this past weekend. Nice lookin bird.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry!

My brother, who happens to be the duck hunter in the family, has been hitting it hard again now that he's done deer hunting and hasn't been doing too well.

What did we all do to deserve this nice, beautiful fall weather into early winter! Are we going to have ice yet this year? Sheesh!

I got a nice drake wood duck with a band. It was definitely beginners luck as this is my first year duck hunting.

Even though the ducks have been slim pickins round these parts, it sure beats being at work. And, hopefully the mother of all cold fronts will come down from Canada eh and freeze everything up so I can get to doin what I love the best. Drinkin in the fish house.

I managed to get one this year, a banded drake mallard in North Dakota in October. I should thank my dog because I wounded the sucker and he had to search for it and dig it out the the catttails.

I was lucky enough to get 2 ducks with bands this year. First one was a mallard drake that was banded on Luther lake ont. aged at 1 1/2 yrs old. The second one was a Goldeneye that was banded in Thunder bay and was also 1 1/2 years old. So in my first 20 years of duck hunting I got 1 band and now I have 3 more bands in my last 2 years of hunting.

I got a drake mallard at the end of oct this year that was banded in upstate New York in January of 2005. No wonder he was a loner, all the other ducks knew he was flying the wrong direction.

1 banded mallard drake this year. but the kicker is he had a band on each leg. one the tracking #, and the other $100 reward band. i tried to donate the $100 to a guy who lost his dog, but the durn fool wouldn't accept it after he found the dog. the nerve of some people ............loc9

Shot a banded mallard last weekend. Called it in and will post up where it was from when i get the info back.

We downed a banded goose this morning and will post where it was bande at in the future. Second bird of the year with that i have seen with a band. Flicks was the first.

Never shot a banded duck or goose, but three years ago I shot a buck with a DNR ear tag. Went to there office ib Grand Rapids and they pulled the file on the deer and showed me where they tagged it. It was about seven miles from where it was taggeg 2 years before.

I shot two banded mallards on opening weekend. It will be interesting to see where they came from but I have a pretty good idea....

only band for us this year so far came from a double-banded pigeon I pounded on early goose opener.

last year we got two banded honkers and a greenhead. The geese were locals and the greenhead came out of Saskatchewan.
