Fishing licenses

I bought my new fishing lic. today,noticed that the price was up and that it was shorted 2 months. Exps. feb28 , not april 30 like the old one.

Makes no difference to me either, when I buy it I put the expiration date on my calendar so I know when to get a new one.

One more point to the discussion: South Dakota licenses start Jan 1st-Dec. 31st. I guess not even different states can agree as well.

For the record, I really liked having Jan 1 as the date when I lived there. They also had the month of December to get a new one, so it would never expire in the middle of a trip.

Wrong! Better check your point on that mine expired on 01/31/13 this year just like it always has. Sd is a poor example anyways because we don't have a closed season for species.

The only thing I disagree with is pick a stupid date, ANY DATE and leave it. I buy a liscense every year, so I could care less what month I buy it in...just leave it the same so I don't forget!

Better yet, make a mobile app, that tells me the expiration date so I dont have to pull my license out and look at it along with the fine print that says "unless noted elsewhere".

Well I agree with you.

So those who buy there license based on the season, open water - ice prolly do not buy a Sportsmens license in the spring cause Huntin don't start until September.

For me it does not matter. I need one every year and I always get it long in advance so I do not forget about the new one.

Fishing license is cheap for all the fishing I do.
