CONCORD, N.C. - It turns out the car salesman in the new Pepsi prank ad with Nascar driver Jeff Gordon is an actor.

The viral video in which a disguised Gordon takes the salesman for a "wild test drive" is a fake, according to Snopes.

How do they know? First of all, the car in the video is a 2009 Chevy Camaro. Chevy didn't make Camaros in 2009. Also, you never once see Gordon driving. Sources say it was all done by a stunt driver. The company that produced the video is a division of Will Ferrell's Funny or Die company.

And lastly, liability issues would made this prank impossible. A dealership employee would be required to sign a release in case of injury during filming.

It is still funny though!!

At first I thought for sure it wasnt Gordan driving, because he was turning right, but then I thought about it, and realized, he has had some practice during races turning right!

Cmon, nobody really thought that was real did they?

A buddy of mine sent me this video last week. He is a BIG JG fan and was sure Gordon was doing the driving. I totally disagreed with him and had to prove him wrong. After sending him the Snopes link he still thinks Gordon was driving. BTW he believes every big fish story on the net too. laugh
