My stupid idea.

Anyone ever mount there wheel house to a pontoon boat frame for summer use? I am building a 8x16 and would like to put it on a 20ft pontoon boat frame for the summer.

Neat idea. Lots of weight will need lots of float tubes and you'll probably want a generator running an a/c unit to keep it from becoming an oven.

I think this would be a fun project! Let us in on the pics if you decide to make it...trolling would be a whole new experience doing this... leave the rattle reels in or floor mounts for poles. and I wonder if we could get by with two lines if anchored doing this...lol

I had the same idea but can never seem to afford it, I have a 24 foot pontoon with a 40 hp motor on it if you are interested. I was planning on building a new fish house and put my ten year old fish house on it.

If your looking for a cheaper pontoon you could look at recreationalsalvage dot com. This site has many storm damaged pontoons that may work well for your project.

You can only use 2 lines throught the ice. I had the same thought many years age.

I think you would need to add ballast to keep it stable.

You could take the roof off and replace it with a roll up garage door. This way you can get some sun if you want to............and paint it camo and have the mostest stinkin cool duck blind ever.

Sounds like a great idea. Keep it light. You will need more windows than you would normally use in a fishouse, and probably doors on both ends.
