Marcus Taplin
We shot our first webisode of Hooked On The Ice a few days ago up in northern MN. The target was giant crappies, enjoy! Watch more videos here at HSOshow

BradHawthorne
Thanks for all the kind words guys! I was really looking forward to this shoot, we had done our research and knew the lake had 14+ potential from the stats but had never fished it and we had a few new products we wanted to really put through the ringer, one was 3lb Sufix ice magic, we had played with it on land giving it the stretch test, caught a few gills on 2lb Ice magic but had never put the 3lb to the test with 1lb+ crappies. HardwaterHero
I see that you are using the Strikemaster Honda. Any thoughts on their new model? Any issues for concern?

BradHawthorne
I see that you are using the Strikemaster Honda. Any thoughts on their new model? Any issues for concern? We have about 250 holes on the new honda and no issues at all, starts fine, drills smooth and sips gas..my personal favorite, my ears don't ring for an hour after drilling 50 holes. FishinFools
That EC reel seemed to do the job. Any comments on its performance? I got two rigged and ready to go this week.
BradHawthorne
Hear is my take on the multiplier reels currently on the market. They work good and are far better than the 1 to 1 style. I just wish the back of the reel was sealed off so my the palm of my hand could rest on the back of the reel without hitting the spool, all of the multipliers on the market are like this. Hopefully we will see them take input from these first generation reels we have this year make changes to completely adapt them to ice fishing, also a longer space is needed in between the reel and rod and they NEED a back reel switch, but like I said they are ten steps ahead of the 1 to 1's in my book and now have me using inlines for deeper water instead of just using them for 10ft or less. The bearing on the eagle claw are good they will spool out the lightest jig in my box but the drag needs some work, it needs more fine adjustment, like a 1/4oz of drag per-click for gill and slabs. walleye17
Does anyone know where I can get a set of those rings that hold the reel to the ice rod? Thanks.
PurpleCatMan
What jigs were used and what kind of bait did you have on them?
Coon
I found it interesting you threw the fish on camera back down the hole. I'm pretty sure hell would freeze over before anyone around here would do that.

BradHawthorne
What jigs were used and what kind of bait did you have on them? It was a combo between 64th oz firetiger JR's ice jig with red plastic nail tail (I picked up at the Blain Ice show) and size #2 plain glow Bentley Marmooska with a single waxie
Vitreus
Anyone know what kind of rod that was? That thing really seemed to handle fish nicely.
