OnAFly
Fleet Farm had Skandia W jigs one sale last year for something like $1.50. Anyone know if those are going back on sale again this year?
JoeTC
Stopped at Fleet Farm yesterday and they still didn't have their ice fishing tackle out. I couldn't believe it but I found everything I needed up the road at JR's and was impressed to find buy one get one on last years ice rods!Joe
BartmanMN
no ice fishing out yet? Wow, that is weird. I like those Skandia Tungsten jigs too.
fishwater
The Oakdale FF has the new custom spins and jigs tungsten for 1.75 per jig. The paint wasn't the most durable on some of the Skandia jigs I've used, other than that they've been good.
OnAFly
I heard that about the paint, so I applied a little of the wife's clear nail polish to them. I didn't have any chips all year.
Fishin4fun_MN
Was at the Lakeville FF on Black Friday selection of ice tackle. Tungsten jigs from Skandia, Marmooska, Custom Jigs & Spin, and Northland.

Unless they've improved their quality and fixed their paint problems, I would consider the HT Marmooskas to be the low end of quality as far as tungsten jigs go. Make no bones about it, right now, 3mm tungsten jigs are expensive. If you have an issue paying more than $3/jig, you're not going to be buying many of them in the immediate future. Bentley Fishing USA makes super nice ones, very high quality, but very expensive. But - you can have the same quality for less than both Bentley and HT. Google "Fiskas Wolfpack" and go to the first link, initials YBD. They are the exclusive distributors of high quality Fiskas, and I think even Cabela's now buys from them (EDIT: Cabela's does sell a limited selection of them, just checked on their HSOforum.) You can get 6 3-5mm jigs for 15-17 bucks, WAY higher quality and hooks than the HT product, better than Skandia and right on par with Bentley. I have bought 250+ jigs from this company, the service, shipping and quality are outstanding. They are the only jigs I fish with anymore, save for the bigger Bentleys I use for walleyes and lake trout. BTW, while you are on site, check for the Devils jig in the Treble hook section (Bentley's calls then "Tarantulas." Expensive, but lethal. Best slow/cautious bite panfish stimulator I've ever used, and they worked great last year for rainbows and brookies in lakes, as well. I get most of my Tungsten jigs from Bobbers down online which is "Fiskas" Wolfram. At average price each $2.50-$2.80 a peice in 3mm-6mm. I dont buy anything bigger or smaller than that size. For $16 you should be able to get at least 6 jigs. I think them HT assorted Tungsten ice jigs were overpriced @ Fleet Farm. I've seen them online as high as $8.50 and as low as $6 a pair. But that is still more then the Fiskas I buy.

fishwater
I got a couple of kits from Sportsmans Direct last year, they have some really nice epoxy jigs available. The black with green glow swirl was my go-to for a couple of days until it was stolen by a pike
