FisH_SLaYer24
Does anyone know if the DH Custom Rod guys will be at the St. Paul Ice Show this year? I would really like to compare Thorne's rods and the DH Custom's in person before I look at purchasing a new Perch rod..If they will be there, are they going to have Ice Rods to purchase? LakeDocktor
I know there was a post from Northland regarding the DH ice camo rod and it matching the Otter canvas. I thought I'd post some pictures of that rod and some of the others I picked up this past weekend. I own several DH custom rods, TB rods, & now TUC also. The DH rod are very high quality and well made. I own 3 DH noodles, two on recoils. And their Perch Pounder on recoils with the carbon fiber handle.I have chosen now to have all my solid carbon graphite rods be made with the carbon fiber handles instead of cork as I feel they do a better job of transferring sensitivity to your hands and fingers. Chris Barlage
The tip looks un trimmed because DH uses a tip wrap/guide on the tip instead of using a slide over tip. Better fit for a noodle rod for better results. Thats why you see a little bit of the tip on the end.

wormin'smallies
I was up at the ice fishing show. Saw those dh rods. Boy, those noodle rods are impressive, but I don't do much pan fishin through the ice. Got home and ordered a perch pounder for those pool 3 walleyes. Had them put the carbon handle on. Talked to Chris and he said it was well worth it
mww24
The noodle rods work great as a deadstick walleye rod. The tip loads into an extremely stiff backbone. Even though the tip is whispy they can handle big fish.

Even more so now as i was loading up to head to Cass lake yesterdayand tied a tiny tungssten jig to it and the tip bent as i was hooking it to the hook keeper and the tip snapped. :-( not a happy camper and i didnt even bend it that far, it loaded up more with a fish on. Disapointed isnt the word for it. Needless to say my alDente has a stiffer action to it now.

mww24
My Thorne bros noodle rod got jumped on by my son before it ever saw action. I lost about 2 inches and can't tell the difference between it and my second one. Just had them clean the break up and tie on a new tip. NoWiser
Mine broke about 2" off the end as well. First rod I've broke in over 10 years and I don't have a clue how it broke because it was in a good case. One piece when I put it in and two pieces when I opened it back up. I was extremely careful with that thing, too.Anyways, I called Dusty, sent it back to him, and a new one showed up in the mail. I emailed him to see what I owed him for shipping and any other costs and he just replied with "Don't worry about it, just enjoy and Happy Holidays!" I will be ordering more rods from him in the future.....
