Notime
Funny, they always sound like a heard coming at you! First year it happened to me I was grabbing extra shells just in case!

sticknstring
That's awesome! Wish I had turks in the areas I bowhunt in the fall. Buy a fall tag!

nbadger23
Funny, they always sound like a heard coming at you! First year it happened to me I was grabbing extra shells just in case! I know that feeling. The first few times that I ever saw turkeys in the woods, their "arrival noise" had me thinking for sure that multiple deer were coming my way. I've since learned that if I can hear that much noise, for that long, and not spot a deer then the turkey are on their way. Unfortunately none have passed my way this year. going4it
I have seen way more turkeys this year then deer. STarted saying I was turkey hunting since the deer have been scarce and hoping then I would actually see a deer.
bigbucks
I hear you I had a fall turkey tag & shot my bird a couple of weeks ago at a farm where I also bow hunt. A week later he saw 3 groups totalling 39 birds, obviously there WERE 40. Pretty sure there aren't 40 deer out there, although there's quite a few, but they're a LOT smarter than turkeys...
