the man
How common are wigeon in your bag? Never shot one and I have always wanted to mount a nice drake.
Gordie
I have shot a couple in this area. The farther west you go the better chance at your success IMO
booger
I have shot a couple in this area. The farther west you go the better chance at your success IMO I hear that about all waterfowl hunting
dan z
Shoot a couple every year, haven't harvested one wall worthy though
Mr.Seaguar
I used to see them in SD and we see them in Iowa some. They are a late migrator in my experience. We shoot them right before freezeup.
BoxMN
Best way to get one... set up your dekes perfectly where you think they should land... then go and sit on the other side of the lake because that is where they always have landed for us! We do get some in NoDak though.
Quackaddict9
Shot a couple opening weekend on Sunday. I've shot a few them field hunting and at the rice fields. Not wall worthy though.

mallardnwalleye
I always shoot at least a couple. They are common around the canvasback staging areas on the Mississippi and very common out by Jamestown in Nodak. They migrate around now and again with the northern flight. My bro and I always say "Wigeons fly like pigeons" as a rhyme to ID them. The bright white on the top of the wing will help you pick the drakes out of a flock. They are suckers for spinners.Good luck in your quest for a mounter! Matt Breuer
Growing up around Agassiz widgeon and gadwall were the majority of our bag... not sure if it's still like that, as I don't hunt ducks up there anymore... unless they come down in the corn!
