white or black hull

I have had both. As others mentioned, black shows every single scratch if you beach it. Black boats are very hot in the summer sun also. My new hull is white and I have always thought white boats look sharp. I think white is more natural looking to fish looking up if you really want to overthink it.

According to many studies white or black hulls don't make a bit of difference to fish and neither appear more natural than the other. The mass of the hull is what dictates any sort of reaction and in most cases except in extremely shallow water does the hull look any different than a shade of gray whether it be white or black. Although bass can see up to 50 feet underwater they can only see with clarity within a foot. Explains why all sort of artificial baits no matter what they are supposed to mimic catch fish. I do agree that black does show scratches more easily but if you do scratch any color gel coat you will see the mark.

Have you ever thought of gray? Not sure What all nitro offers for bottom colors. I have always wanted a gray with red polyflake and black and silver striping. I've seen a couple like this and just like it. I have the black polyflake on the majority of my hull and it shows every little scratch and scuff. If you hit the white rubber most docks have that shows up and is hard to get off. I could imagine a black bottom would look pretty beat up especially if you beach it.
