I spoke with DNR last year in detail and it was explained very clearly that it was based solely on pts. She even went over numbers with me how many people applied with 4 or 3 how many people with 1 would get picked after every body else with more pts were already picked. I hate to argue but I think your mistaken...or she lied to me?

I was drawn as well. My question is, how do I now purchase the license? It did not show up online when I went there to purchase. Can I only purchase at a vendor (store)? Will it show up as available online? Or is there some type of mistake again this year?

hey chris, remember there are only somany tags pre zone, somany in this zone an somany in this zone , which are based on harvest results. so if the are more 2 pointer applicants than tags allowed some 2 pointer applicants arnt even gona get drawn cause all the tags were drawn. so that srews the 1 pointers to which usually happens anyways. but ofcourse if there are surpluss tags in your freinds zone its because they wernt bought. I think I got that right, could be wrong.

Boar your exactly correct ( at least from what I was told last year by DNR) they pick them starting with highest pts first once say all people with 3 preference pts given permit then goes to anybody with 2 and so on....I was told last year somebody had 5 pts and there were only about 300 people in area 51 with one pt given permits because of how many people with 3 and 2 pts. This year be less depending on how many applied because about 300 less permits in area 51 given out..

I've seen multiple people not get drawn with two points while people with one point get drawn in the same area. Heck, I've got family that gets drawn with one point when a neighbor hunting in the same area didn't get drawn two years in a row.

After 9 of us getting drawn for 25, something is starting to smell fishy. Waiting a few weeks to see if theres a redraw.

Moose is the same,every year their are people that get drawn on their first year applying then you have people who have been trying for 10 years and still don't get a tag.
