Not sure if anyone else gets the Uline supply companies catalog at work. But on their new Spring/Summer 2012 cover they posted a picture of a very nice jumping Asian Carp!

I sent them this note to let them know:

Dear Uline

I am not sure that you may be aware? But the jumping fish you printed on your new Spring/Summer 2012 catalog is an Asian Silver Carp which is an invasion species which states like Minnesota and others are spending millions of dollars to try and eradicate before it spreads up the Mississippi river and into the lakes. Just thought you may want to know that. Steve A.

Did they change it already or do they have different cover pictures depending on where it's sent? I just looked at the catalog and it shows a (poorly photoshopped) truck driving through a mountain road.

Pretty sure it is only on the newest one that just came out. I got mine Wed. If your company gets them it should be on it's way. I always love it when people who do not fish or hunt make up advertising cover photo's. It will be some one holding up a deepsea rod and a Trout or something!

I did the same thing yesterday after reading this post. Pretty much wrote the same statement about the carp. I was curious to see what they would say. Here is the response I received:

Um, maybe you should spend some time reading up on "that" fish's subject and then ask your self why a company would want to represent it to their customers on the cover of their product catalog?

But then maybe you have better things to do then to give a hoot about our rivers and lakes!

I think they just wanted a pic of a fish jumping out of the water without a lure attached and thats the easiest one to get. How often do you see the state fish doing that. It would look better with an arrow sticking through it.
