NCAA Tourney Time!

At the game yesterday Bjugstad had a couple of good chance when we were up 3-1 4-1. I told the guys behind us that were going nuts not to worry he is saving them for when we need em. Thats my call. He will be big on the 5th and 7th!!

Hows this for a sig?

I bleed Minnesota Golden Gopher maroon and gold, the team that dismantled the #1 seed UND with ease. Go GOPHERS!!!

]Bear, snap out of it. We are hear to win. This getting there is good enough is dump. This looks like the easiest frozen 4 ive seen in year. s

I hope Lucis is sending that message, everything I hear is this we are just glad to get there.

Play to win.

Hey no doubt we are there to win and I think we have a great shot at it. The boys on the ice decide the games, I am just along for the ride and I am happy to be there again as a fan. We are oh so close, yet oh so far away, just look at the Sioux, how many frozen fours without a title in recent years? 75% of all frozen four teams walk away with a story. If it was easy we would have a dozen titles by now.

Come on cbrooks, take it like a man and post one of the sigs, it's only until the new champion is crowned so not even two weeks. They aren't that bad anyway.

Well do we have any Gopher and Sioux gamblers among us?

THE BET

Avatars of course! If the Gophers win the regional Sioux fans have to post a Gopher avatar of our choice until the NCAA champion is crowned. Same goes for Gopher fan if the Sioux win the regional, you can pick our avatars. If tragic events should occur and neither team makes it out of the regional we can just go on with life as usual.

Just post IN is you are in, or CHICKEN if you are too scared.

Here's the bet brooks, we switched from avatars to sigs but you can clearly see it is our choice. Where is shorelunch and bryce? Post em up boys.

Either one of these will do.

Hopefully this 2 week layoff gives that BC goalie a chance to cool down, good lord did he look good and their D is strong and they can score.. Thank God we don't have to play them right now because they would run over MN like they did UMD, in 2 weeks, I think it will be like the Superbowl where both teams have to get in their groove..

So Brooks and Bryce, you guys are cheering for the Gophs? I about equally dislike both programs and I'd have to honestly say I'm cheering for both to lose grin but that most likely won't happen.

"Experts" can talk all they want about Ferris and Union each winning their conferences, but I guarantee, the winner of the MN/BC game takes home the trophy.

I don't blame you shorelunch, I have trouble cheering on the Sioux too. As much as I hate Michigan I wanted them to win and lose the next night last year, thankfully that worked out as planned. I sometimes do the cheer for your conference stuff but it seems if it comes to UND or WI I just can't do it.

I'm not going to buy the winner of BC MN is the champ stuff, they might be the favorite but if the first round games are no sure thing there is no way the chapionship game will be, I don't care who you are playing.

Pretty much in a box for the first game. Will never pull for the rodents and BC program doesn't bring a whole lot more to the table. Lots of overtimes so too tired to play well in the championship game. I like saying Ferris State so there's my call.

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
