Ice rod with noodle tip

I'm looking for a great rod with a real flimsy tip which tapers down to something with a litte backbone. I fish alot of panfish but occasionally hook up on a nice walleye Would be nice to have the best of both worlds. I don't care much for spring bobbers....

I picked up on of DH custom rods "al Dente" rods and am highy impressed. its is very sensitive with plenty of backbone. i started out using tungsten jigs panfishing with it and it gives the jig nice action while still getting good feel. I had the rod up on lake of the woods 2 weekends ago just because it was in my rod case and just hadnt pulled it out. i got the itch just for kicks and threw a glow red macho minnow on it and about 15 minutes later of jigging i got a hit. it started taking line as i had the drag loose because of the light action and after about 10 minutes and a couple of long running line pulls i landed a 4 1/2 pound eelpout. It was truly fun and left me knowing it had plenty of backbone behind the sensitive tip. Obviously i recommend this rod.

Depends on the quality you want. If you want cheaper lower quality buy a meatstick. If you want better quality buy a DH "Al Dente" or a TB Powernoodle. It all depends on the how much you're willing to spend...

The Meatsticks are not cheap or low quality. The HT noodles for $10 are cheap/low quality. Just because it costs less than the most expensive custom rods you can buy does not make it cheap. They are mid priced, if anything.

I am very satisfied with my Al Dente Noodle. I would recommend it to anyone.

I have several of these type rods. Low end to high end it would be JR tackles meatstick, Jason Mitchel Meatstick, El Dante., Thorne Brothers.

All will show you the lightest of bites but as far as quality the El Dante and Thorne Brothers rods are much better. The Jason Mitchel is probably all most fisherman would need spend for in my opinion. After that its all gravy.
