We did a little LAKE TROUT fishing yesterday, On the way out in the morning it had frozen over the slush holes so travel was great. On the way in, if you were pulling anything you had to be VERY careful to stay on old trails. I got a video (not the best one I've taken) but shows how long a fight these LAKERS put up.

We also have a TRUE spring special on Cabin Rentals that runs till June 21. Check out our HSOforum for more details.

Enjoy

Hello all

Less then a week till the WALLEYE opener. There's ice out there yet, in the bay at camp the last few days has seen the move in of the northern pike for the spawn. Also have seen shiners around the dock , just pinheads. Talked to one of the local guides he said that Sabaskong bay was clear of ice for the most part. As for White Fish Bay there was some open water on the east side till the wind picked up and pushed it back in. I have a little video of the ice out at the mouth of the Big Grassy River by Pork Point in Morson.

Cheers

Thanks for the video. Looks like opener should be good to go with the temps forecasted this week. I will be on Minnitaki for the opener. Been a stressful couple of weeks wondering what we were going to do with the ice..but it looks like we will be fine.

Looks like the fishing was slow right after the big drowning of RAIN.

Things seems to be back to normal, I even had a couple hours to take my daughter fishing Saturday. She out-Fished me yet again. Caught some at between 5 to 12 fow on sand to rock bays.

Another great weekend here in Morson, made it out Saturday to wet a line caught 90% of the fish in 16 fow off the side of a reef. Biggest walleye was 24 inch lots of 21 and 22 and enough small ones (14-15 inch) for supper. We used a minnow and a 1/4 ounce jig any color worked .

The Fishing out of Morson is GREAT. Catching nice 14 inch slabs with slip bobber's . Or on the reefs hitting the WALLEYES. (16 fow) still the sweet spot. There are walleyes on the sand also. (5-10 fow) The Small mouth are very active, (one group pulling close to a 100 in a day). Muskies are making there way into a few boats too. Last night my daughter got her first muskie a 40 inch right at camp. If you are looking for a cabin to rent or a guided trip , we would be very happy to have you. Here's a few of the fish from this week so far.

Have good one

Rob

Walleyes in 25-30 fow , it was a drop your line to the bottom and pull up a fish. Caught them on a jig and a minnow . Glow in the dark white worked the best.

Have a good one

Just got back last night after fishing out of Morson Saturday thru Monday. Did really well, in spite of the 20 degree drop in temp from Friday to Saturday. Most were caught in 20' to 30' of water. Narrows, rock points and island shorelines. Jig and minnow or mimick minnow was all we used. Great trip.

The water temp was 58 the day we started fishing and 55 the last day we fished. We saw a few boats trolling for Muskie but not as many as usual. The Muskie fanatic at the resort I stay at was waiting for the water temp to drop.

Yes, I was referring to Justin. I just got an email from him yesterday. He was out one day, recently, and got two Muskies and five Northerns. Sounds like the water is cooling down and the fishing is heating up. Good luck, be safe, have fun.

Good luck ff. I was up last week. We stayed on an island over by Nester Falls. Did well on walleyes & crappies. Didn't target muskies, but one couple caught & released 26 in a 2 wk period. [ALL TROWLING] Biggest was 49". They do that every year. Our best fishing was back toward Morson, but very good by Nester also. Good Luck! KEEP THE FAITH, BUT DON'T FIGHT THE FEELING!wft

Made it up and fished Thursday evening through Sunday. We're still learning this trolling game, but we got more confident with each day. Ended up with 6 musky and 2 good pike for the the trip. Biggest was 44.5" Fished Jakes. Best color was a white with blue back. Caught all but one of our fish. First fish was on a perch colored jake. Caught one Thursday, one musky and a pike on Friday, same for Saturday, and then finished with three on Sunday afternoon. Water temps were still 47-48. Air temps ranged from lows in the low 20's to highs in the upper 30's. Mostly had 15-20 mph winds except short stretches of lighter winds. Was a blast. Wish I could go up again this weekend.

Merry Christmas

I tried a Lindy Darter that also put Walleyes on the ice. Alf Gate has minnows in Bergland . I will check to see if anyone else has any or will have some soon.

Some small walleyes and a crappie or two. Talked to a group that was in the same area , they also picked up some nice slabs and a 26 inch walleye . Heres one from yesterday(Walleye), and one from today (me/Crappie) full-39664-40785-jwa.jpg

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
