I would really like to buy a set of these. I found $199 for Blue and $299 for gray extreame. What are the differences? I am sick of being cold when hole hopping. Not to mention cold weather fishing in the boat. I also like the looks of the Snosuit by Frabil. But they want over $300 a piece for it no way am I spending that kinda money!

I have the grey suit. it is very warm. Mine is 4 or 5 years old and is holding up well. It is almost two warm sometimes. especially when walking out. I wish I had the blue for warmer weather or something with not much insulation. When I'm walking its bibs only with the jacket sitting on the sled. and i only wear shorts underneath the bibs. When i'm driving and not doing much physical work its just long underwear and a hoody then the suit. I have never used another suit so I have no comparisons though. Good luck 300 is a nice price. mine was 370.

I've had the Gray suit since it came out and very pleased with it. Never let me down, and still looks like the day I bought it minus a few stains. Gonna have to re-coat it with water proofing this summer because I notice it soaking up water drops instead of beading up. But that is to be expected with any suit.

I will also recomend you look at the Striker Suits. Very well thought out suits. I have the regualr Striker and it is WARM and floats. The Striker Light is also warm but on the lighter side of it. Guys I know that have both suits have nothing but good to say about them so far.

If we ever get some real cold up this way Im going to give my Striker Suit a real shake down.

I was in the same boat as you are. I only wanted to buy one suit so I went with the equivalent to the blue suit (different colors). I talked with one friend with the blue suit and one with the grey suit and they both told me to go with the blue suit (or equivalent). I run warm and am more active than most ice fisherman and I also do not mind layering as long as it means it will be more useful later into the spring and earlier into the fall seasons in the boat. It is amazing how warm simply keeping the wind and water on the other side of the suit can keep you.

That being said, I went with the blue suit equivalent because I figured I would be paying less for something I could use more. However, if you get cold easily or are not very acive ice fishing, I think the grey suit would be a better fit for you, especially if you do not like to layer.

Also, if you do not want the blue suit but an equivalent of, I got the black bibs and a brown coat for $155 buying online. They also have camo, red/black, and green/black colors. If you are interested, I can send you a pm with the websites which I found these deals.

I have the grey suit and my wife has the ladies extreme suit. Yes, they're warm. My wife is the freezy baby of the group and she stays warm in this suit.

One cool thing aboot the grey suits is they breathe real nice. At the end of the day I don't feel all clammy and squishy like I have wearing other suits.

I have the grey suit and yes, I agree with all, it is a very warm suit.

One can find some deals aorund at a good price.

There are many nice suits on the market and some are simply more expensive than others.

I like my AA suit but it is not as warm. My SnoSuit is a great suit but on the warmer days, it is a bit much.

The Striker Ice falls somewhere in between. The best benefit of the AA or Strikeer Ice suit is if of course one falls through, this could possibly save ones life but they do of course run more cash.

i fish in my fish trap most of the time so I am not sure if the Extreame is what I need. The lighter suit may work. I tried the blue suit on yesterday and like it. But hate not having a full length Zipper. To take suit on and off. the boots will have to come off. That is the one thing I like about the Frabill suits they have hip length Zippers. Are the Stiker Floating suits bulky? I have tried on the Vexilar Coldsnaps and liked them as well. But as a MarCum guy. That aint gonna work!

I would say the Striker Ice is not as bulky as a Sno Suit but a bit bilkier than an AA. As far as an Ice Armor to a Striker, maybe a bit bulkier.

If you do not get cold that easy and fish the majority of the time in a house, the regular Ice Armour may be the ticket.

If you get cold easy, then you may want to look at a bit heavier suit.

I would say your best bet would be to try some on in the sotres to see which you like the best in regards to be bulky and how flexible you are in each suit.

I or anyone else can say we like this suit or that one but we are all fishing in different situations and our bodies are different in regards to being warm or cold.

I also have the grey clam suit. Love it.

If you want a snosuit for cheaper, check e - b - a - y. There were some new ones selling for under $500.

Here's my real world experiance with both.

Bought the blue suit on clearance the first year it was on the markt (guessing 7-8 years ago). Use it most of the time on the ice which has accounted for hundreds of uses. A couple years with the suit the seam on the inside of the jacket ripped right by the little tab you hang it up on. First use this Winter the crotch tore a little. I fixed both myself with a little thread and a needle and having worn the suit 10+ times since they are holding up great. This suit has been throug the washer and dryer 10-15 times.

Bought the X suit also on clearnace end of last Winter. In the first week wearing it both inner leg seams ripped open from top to bottom! The bottoms are double X were the blue's are just XL. A friend of mine bought a suit at the same time and his did the same thing! Both the suits were stitched up by a seamstress. By week two my jacket had two seam rips also. My suit never had time to hit the washer and dryer because it was returned for a full refund.

Ended up getting a snosuit jacket for $149 on clearance last Winter and at the ice show secured matching bibs for $179. The quality of this suit is way better than the X suit. If you shop around you can get one for far less than retail ($339 per piece).

    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
