Easy treat for non-bakers...

Recommended Posts

I love to cook, and consider myself fairly good at it... but I cant bake and have no desire to learn, lol...

A lady at work put me onto this easy and tasty treat for us baking impaired...

Take some of those mini pretzels and arrange them on a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper. Then plop a Rollo on each one and into a 250 degree oven for 5 min...

When they come out place another pretzel or a half pecan on them and push em down a bit...

Let them cool and your all set... cool

Another sweet treat is oreo truffles

What You Need

1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

1 pkg. (16.6 oz.) OREO Cookies, finely crushed (about 4-1/4 cups), divided

2 pkg. (8 squares each) BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted

Make It

MIX cream cheese and 3 cups cookie crumbs until well blended.

SHAPE into 48 (1-inch) balls. Dip in melted chocolate; place on waxed paper-covered baking sheet. Sprinkle with remaining cookie crumbs.

REFRIGERATE 1 hour or until firm. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Walleyehooker -

I was about to post that same recipe. Those things flat out disappear around our house. I put the oreos in the food processer and buzz them until they're almost powder, then mix in the cream cheese a few chunks at a time. The end result is like velvet. Besides chocolate, you can also do either white chocolate or almond bark, both of which are outstanding.

My wife and her 4 sisters get together at our house before Christmas to bake cookies. They're all outstanding bakers (they call themselves "cookie snobs") and really go to town. This year's tally was just over 1300 cookies - about a dozen different kinds. I call it "Cookie Mayhem" and mainly hide in the basement, but I do come out of hiding to make these.

With all the bakers in my family, it's a wonder I'm not a 400 pounder.

Another great dessert recipe, Jello Pie:

Take one small package of jello (I like strawberry, the 'real' jello with real sugar). Add it to 3/4 water in a saucepan. Heat and dissolve the jello.

In a mixing bowl, take your jello mixture and one whole container of Cool Whip, and stir them together. After completely stirred, pour this into a pre-made pie crusts. I like the chocolate pie crusts best for this.

Top with Reddiwhip for extra whipped cream awesomeness.

Some recipes call for adding in quartered chunks of strawberries. I like my pie smooth though.

I used the mint oreos in the ones I made but you can use any of them. Im going to try the white chocolate next time. Those look good.

I have used the mint oreos before also. And melted PB Chocolate chips for the coating, which was real tasty on the regular oreos. cool

I stopped at my local grocery store to buy more Rolos today, they were out also... eek
