zamboni
I was told I was the first one at the Fairmont store that has bought a RAZR. So far, so good!! Wished I lived in a 4G place, but I guess I can wait until I go to the cities and see how fast it really is.
LMITOUT
Nice! Did you buy it exactly at 11:11 on 11/11/11? What did you have before?
zamboni
I had the HTC Incredible. The first one. The RAZR is so, so thin, but big around. I went on youtube and pulled up GNRs Sweet Child O Mine video, looked and sounded great. It has the dual cameras, the one on the back is HD, I think you can video call on it, but haven't messed around too much with it yet. It was between this, the Casio GShock or the Bionic. I read reviews on the GShock and apparently the Facebook functions are limited, so that was out. It was a toss up between the other two, and I decided the RAZR after playing with the store display
LwnmwnMan2
I was at Verizon in Roseville on 11/11, had some time to blow between firewood deliveries.I was messing around with loading different radars, as when I'm out plowing snow, I'm CONSTANTLY loading radars to see when / where the snow is / where it's going to stop when.It was freakin FAST. I would have bought one on the spot, but since I'd forgotten my wallet in my other truck earlier that day, I didn't have a picture ID on me, so no go.Even though I was driving a truck which was parked in the parking lot, with my phone number CLEARLY on the side of the truck in 12" high numbers, with my phone, which they could call, with my face plastered in about 50% of the pictures on the phone, that didn't constitute a picture ID all together.Even though I knew 2 different passwords to get into our account, and could tell them the company that we get a discount because my wife works for them, still a no go. CJH
That is a sweet phone! That's what I would buy right now. I think it will be upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich at some point too.

The Razr being QHD does not meet that requirement.
LMITOUT
The RAZR will be getting ICS.
zamboni
RAZR's ICS will be next year, but we're halfway thru November, so may be just a month and a half away, they haven't announced the date, but it will get it. I am on phone screwing around all day, was awake at 6 am and had phone on right away and just plugged it in for the night and still at 60% battery. The Incredible 1 would have been plugged in at 4 pm easy. Great phone, love it.

vexilareye
I am in the market for a new phone and am debating on the RAZR or waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Does anyone have any information on this or recommendations? I have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and am hoping that with the Nexus there will be more functionality bewteen the two. Also, do you any of you know when the Nexus will be released? Thank you.
Nick Kuhn
Phone companies are notoriously bad about announcing release dates, as they want to move all their phones they have now. The only info we have is an old Verizon document stating November 17th. However, with no press events scheduled for this week that seems unlikely. Verizon probably wants to move a lot of Razr's before launching the Nexus. The Razr is far inferior to the Nexus at the same price point (unless you really prefer the Motorola UI), so in order to sell Razr's with the Nexus on the shelf I expect Verizon to dump the price on the Razr's to $200 in the near future. LMITOUT
Did you guys who upgraded to the RAZR take advantage of Verizon's double data promotion going on now?

If I go in and get a new phone and renew my contract or get a new phone early and extend my contract will I be paying the same as I currently am or will my bill go up? I haven't had a chance to go in and talk with someone.
DTro
I've been wondering too. How long does the "Grandfathering" last?
LwnmwnMan2
I've upgraded about 5 times now, even added 2 more Droids to the account, all with unlimited data.

PurpleFloyd
I just upgraded to an Iphone4 a few months ago and the unlimited still transferred to it.However, I upgraded the phone to be a mobile hot spot so I could run my laptop off of it and with that the unlimited data does not apply.( The sales person said it did when I asked) so now I get only 2gb for the laptop a month for and extra 20 dollars and so far that has not been enough. If you would have kept the Android you could have tethered using the PDANET app and not worry about "Mobile Hot Spot" and have unlimited data for your laptop. LwnmwnMan2
If I can root a phone without bricking it, anyone can root a phone without bricking it.As far as my upgrades, I've upgraded a regular phone to a HTC Incredible about August of '10, then upgraded that phone to an X2 around July '11.I changed a Windows Mobile phone to an original Droid X when they first came out, then upgraded to the X2 around July '11, and now upgraded that X2 to a Razr. CAMAN
I did some searching about upgrading and found this... So everyone grandfathered will be able to keep their plan and upgrade phones "AT THIS TIME" which pretty much tells me they are planning on switching everyone to their tiered plans sometime down the road. And some people are estimating that around the time the two companies (Sprint and T-Mobile) either switch over to tiered plans or get bought out by someone. How long that will take is anybody's guess.
