i was thinking about using my climbing stand this year and i was wondering about when you get to your hunting level how much can you move around in the stand as far as standing up to stretch or when you eat lunch or something like that

I have a suggestion that I know many people also do, but go buy a Hunting "Fanny pack" style bag. You can attach it to your climber on the front rail....at least on my summit. I like it because I can keep my lunch, calls, flashlight and knife in it. It also keeps some weight on the front in case you stand up and accidentaly bump the chair part loose from the tree. I actually lost a great opportunity a deer a couple years ago because the top chair piece slid down and made contact with the foot piece. It was not good. The trees in my area are not ideal so that is part of the reason as well.

When I used to use a climber I would add a retchet strap to hold the top section to the tree.

Summits come with a strap to serve this purpose. IT is a very important part that you want to make sure you put on. This is especially true when hunting out of a tree where the bark is hard and the the stand doesnt dig in much. It can take your breath away when you accidently bump the arms of your stand and it goes sliding down to your feet.
