Possession limit in Nodak is twice the daily limit, so 12 birds. I'm assuming they were eating ducks breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not my cup-o-tea, but a lot of people do it.

Glad you had fun! Getting on a good pea field is just about as close to a slam dunk as a hunter can get...if they can figure out how to hide in one. Looks like you didn't have a problem with that wink

Glad you were able to gift some. I don't have much luck with that. The few occasions I've had to hunt posted property and have offered up some kill to landowners have resulted in either looks of disgust or straight up being laughed at. Most farmers I know give about as high of regard to waterfowl as they do crows and coyotes.

We had a similar experience last weekend. We shot 49 birds and 3 geese. We had 12 different species, including my first and second Bull Canvasback. It was an amazing 4 days. We had a lot of northern birds and I don't even want to talk about the ones that we missed.

nothing wrong with eating ducks all day

Agreed! As I said, not my cup-o-tea. I'd rather eat a couple fresh, maybe on the grill, wrapped in bacon, then fill out my possession and call it a trip. Nothing worse than having to eat ducks morning, noon and night just so you can keep killing. Kind of takes the fun out of it.

But if that's your bag, more power to ya! Just not for me...my guts would hate me wink

we did not waste birds we ate them and shared them, if the birds are not wasted why would it bother anyone els... if i was just going to "kill kill kill" i would have also shot my limit of coots everyday also.

we did not force ourself to eat ducks. we chose to. we also shared them with a group of friends that were with us that were phesant hunting.

I hunt ducks because in my opinion they are great tasting, we ate ducks wrapped in bacon on the grill, sliced on sandwiches, on grilled cheese, and hot with peanut butter. all great ways to eat ducks in my opinion. geese belong in roasts i think, easy and cheap!

thank you everyone for the positive feedback
