Here Kitty, Kitty....

So with any luck I am going to get some calling in this weekend. I will not be in a coyote area, but fox and bobcat are a possibility. My plans are to use higher pitched tones and bird distress to reduce the Wolf issues.

My question is, if I am lucky enough to bring in a cat, is a small games licence all that is needed? Or do I need a "furbearers" licence?

I have looked at the regs and cant see anything listed. Ideas?

Thats just another example of why you ask and check twice.

The way it printed off here at work the bobcat and coyote are grouped together, it printed dark and all you can read is "continuous".

I can wait. Still plan to call, the cats were a long shot anyways, Fox's are still in the mix, I will be way into the north zone.

Thanks guys.

Well, I am glad I asked.

I called several places on friday afternoon/eavning. On one of those sets, I called in a bobcat. I will say I was disapointed that I couldn't shoot it, being my first. I got busted reaching for the camera. cry (woodpecker distress)

I found a couple of spots that had potential for fox, plenty of sign but there was a lot of Wolf sign in the same area and I did stumble on a wolf kill (white tail) and a spot were someone dumped their moose bones. So I opted not to call it. Plus there was a lot of hunter traffic on Sat.

Next time, now time to focus on local Coyotes.
