Who carries the Best Selection of shotgun shells?

Recommended Posts

Just tried Hypersonic by Remington this wkd, it did the job but on me also, a boatload of recoil compared to NitroSteel Remington T's I used to use in 3.5". That stuff will wake you up. Best place for shells I'm guessing Fleet Farm idk, I order from my local Hardware store guy and he gives me a few dollars off per box.

I don't need much selection. Those $9.99 boxes of Winchesters will kill ducks and geese as good as anything, and you can find them anywhere!

But if you're looking for selection, I've noticed a ton of different varieties at Scheels. Cabela's usually is good, too, but I've seen them picked through on more than one occasion. And you can never go wrong with FF.

Watch Rogers. Just ordered a couple cases of black cloud and federal blue box steel at some great prices with free shipping.

do you feel black cloud is the best brand for geese concerning normal priced steel shot. have you compared it to other brands?

Agreed! Won't spend over 10$ on a box of 3" I personally go with federal as we had problems with winchesters jamming in all our guns a few years ago. Don't know if they fixed the problem but still to shy to buy them. We stick with the 9.99 3" BB's made by federal. Love shooting BB's as there are a lot less chrippled ducks. And if u do wing one BB's are much better for kill shots. When the fat mallards show up BB's are the only way to go! JMO

I've shot about every brand out there (other than Kent), and I am by no means a sniper. What I have noticed is that with the right choke, I pick up dead birds not cripples when I hit them with black cloud. Cold be nothing, could be a confidence thing, but I've been doing it a while and it's the best I've come across for killing birds.

I lucked into that 11.99 Kent at Cabela's last week and bought 6 boxes. Best price I saw and only place I could find it. No luck at Gander, FF, Runnings, etc.

Kents are the best shells Ive used

I picked up some of the new winchesters, have yet to see how they are

D I C K S~ Sporting goods stores here in Metro had some Kents yesterday but they were a bit spendy. Not sure if they price match Cabellas or not. Black Cloud was on sale too, but still 18.99 a box for BB 3".

I went with Federal ...its all in the shooter... grin

I used to be a diehard Kent shooter, but funding was tight and I switched to the Winchester cheepies this fall. Maybe it's the shells, or maybe I'm just getting better, but I've honestly been hitting more birds this year than I ever have.

Again, totally anecdotal, but I'm a believer. And you just can't beat $9.99/box.
