Pictures from my deer cam

Recommended Posts

The neighbors said they have seen them before. We haven't until now with the cam. Anyone have any tips for walking out to your deer stand with one of those guys hanging around? Gun loaded!!?? I also notice that they two days after he was on cam, there were no deer on cam for 2 days after.

I like it, I guess. First year using it. I got it because it was cheep. Pictures are ok quality for a 5.0mp camera so yea I think it has been a good investment so far! I just don't see the advantage to buying a $300 camera. I am not going to be using the images in a broadcast setting. Apply the $200 somewhere else.... smile

You got some nice looking deer there. I also hunt around the Staples area (north of town) and just wondering if you are anywhere in the near vacinity. Good luck next month going after them. How come you aren't chasing them with a bow???

hey marcus,i wouldnt worry to much about the bear come firearms season,it will more than likely will be denned up by then, but everyone knows someone whos seen a bear during firearms deer season, either way the bear will either hear or smell you before you see him and avoid you, just use your headlamp on the way in and you "should" be fine.

goodluck on tagging one of those nice looking deer,

mike.

I agree, dont go in with your gun loaded. You are much more likely to have an accidental discharge than be attacked by a black bear. Want proof? Everybody in northern Minnesota hunts with black bears present and I have never heard of anyone being attacked. As stated, it will hear/see you first and beat cheeks for parts unknown.

The bears really are not a concern for you or the deer. They are far more scared of you than you are of them. Although, I will admit, there is a bit of a pucker factor when you jump a big boar at under 10 yards when walking out of the bow stand and it stands on its hind legs to get a better view of you (I'd like to say eye-to-eye view, but he had a height and weight advantage over me).

That nice 4-5 year old buck from the 12th seems to be the same buck from the 14th, 28th and again on the 7th was it? Anyway, that bruser seems to be frequenting your camera spot. Play the wind and hopefully you seem him during daylight. Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. Good luck to you.
