Ripley pictures

Recommended Posts

Hoping to get drawn next year and was wondering what the woods looks like for stand ideas. Oaks, pine, poplar/aspen, brush, swamp? Do you use a climber, hang on, blind, ladder?

Any pictures of the the area you hunted?

Hope to have the 12 year-old draw next year for the youth hunt too. Is the youth hunt and regular hunt in the same areas?

Might as well put up some deer pictures too. grin

To be honest, Ripley has all types of terrain to hunt. I'd say the majority is hard woods like oaks and such, but there is also a lot of lowland areas that are pretty thick.

You won't be able to set up a ladder stand. Plan on a portable hang-on or climber. A popup blind might work ok in some areas as well.

I think the youth hunt is restricted to a smaller part of the range.

The youth hunt is north of Casino Rd only...my son and I are leaving early in the morning for it. I have seen everything from pines, poplar, oaks, swamp...all of it in there just depends on where you go.
