Dave S
LSH went into the half down 3-0 to Mont.-Lonsdale . But came back in the second half to win. Congrats to NYA on another win. They're still my pic to win conference.
Big Dave2
I agree Dave. I think they'll be great competition for years to come. Come next year, I'm afraid that LSH will be towards the bottom in the conference. Yeah, I work with a guy who has a son on LSH B-squad and he made it sound like they were a little thin down there. Big Dave2
Lep, what do you think of the Tri City Titans next year. I'm an old LC Wildcat. It's sad to no they will be no more. I hear that the Titans will be REALLY good in about 3 or 4 years if not sooner. Evidently LC has a really good 8th grade or so class and once they pair with Montgomery who seems to be turning things around as well, they may be dominating the conference eventualy. I'm sure that LSH should win easily but it's funny how LSH's game scores have mirrored BP's scores against the same apponants. About the only difference is BP somehow let Monty beat them 5-0. ozzie
I was at the ER game too and they played hard but I think Rogers more shot themselves in the foot. Fumbled 2nd half kick return, should have taken a safety instead of getting the punt blocked near the end zone, sensitive refs calling 3 unsportsmanlike conducts, running into the punter.... ER was kinda lucky I thought, everything went their way at the end of the game. It was neat to see how excited the ER team and students were, even though my kid goes to Rogers. I didn't think he'd make that kick, but props. Hopefully they meet again in the play-offs, would be another great game. That was a great game and Rogers definately lost the game with bad mistakes!! But what a kick...37yds into a wind out of the NW kicking N from the left hash after his other FG attempt was blocked...who woulda thunk it? It was nice to see a little positive excitment at the old ball field. Too bad the Elks wasted the Becker game away...lets hope they can go out there and beat STMA for a unbelievable turn around. GO ELKS

Depending on which coaching staff they use, I think Tri-City Titans will be a strong team from the beginning. If/when they cross paths with LSH, I will take Tri-City over LSH for atleast the next 3 years if they use the coaching staff from LC. Dave S
BP - LSH game should be a good one. I'm sure that LSH should win easily but it's funny how LSH's game scores have mirrored BP's scores against the same apponants. About the only difference is BP somehow let Monty beat them 5-0. Historically, BP has played LSH very well. Especially this years senior class. It should prove to be a close game if BP wants to play a full 4 qtrs with a good possibility to beat LSH. The LSH QB likes to throw interceptions so if they stick tight to the WRs and TEs, BP is guaranteed a couple turn-overs. LSH's strong point this year, as usual, is their running game. Cork the holes and hit'em low and BP can win.
Big Dave2
Will all depend on the weather too. BP is a bit stronger in the passing game than the running game so cold hands may make a big difference. BP has proven quite well at turning the ball over as well so the turnover game will be anyone's guess.BP has had a hard time in most games scoring points so I am picking LSH by 2 touchdowns but I'm not telling the guy I work with that! Big Dave2
I guess I had it wrong. BP won by a last minute touchdown. Very entertaining game.

Big Dave2
I'm completely shocked that NYA lost to Sibley East 22-6. I am too. I wonder if they sat a bunch of their starters so they wouldn't get hurt before the play-offs? If BP would have scored just 1 touchdown against Montgomery or LSH would have beat BP, either team could have ended up with a share of the conference title. Who would have thunk it? Dave S
Regular season is over now. Congrats to NYA on taking the MN River Conf. The battle in conference standings played out much like I expected between BP and LSH.
NEXPLANAR
From what I heard about NYA game they didn't have much to play for so they rested some player. They held back some plays because theres a good chance they will play them on Saturday in the second round of the play offs.

It's too bad that winning the conference doesn't have the same meaning that it used to.
NEXPLANAR
They won the conference, got some under classmen in the game and nobody got hurt what more do you want.

Dave S
Sounds like several teams from the MRC are still going after today. Also sounds like LSH might be going up against WEM in the next game. This will be a good test however I do like LSH's odds a little better now. Our usual QB fractured a leg in the game against BP so they have another player who's held the QB duty before. He's bigger, stronger and IMO shows a lot more composure in the pocket. Very bright kid. Let's see where he can take the team.
zepman
Mankato West rolled again today...don't think they have the defense to win it all...hoping their offense is enough to get them to the Dome though.Nelson is a stud!

harvey lee
Once again GSL-Glencoe-Silver lake will be playing their last game to get to State again.I believe if they win this last play off game, it will be conference champs for 10 straight seasons. Now thats a record to be proud of. creepworm
By beating Delano in the last game of the season they became Wright County Champs. They now play Fairmont for the section championship.
Scott M
It was a strange year in the Wright County Conference. Watertown-Mayer left, and Grand Rapids played their games because they also left their conference. It left an unbalanced schedule. Hutchinson didn't have to play Delano. GSL lost to Hutchinson on the last play of the game when GSL was tackled at the 2 yd line on what would have been the go ahead score. GSL did not win the conference, Hutch did.Good matchup coming between GSL and Fairmont in Glencoe on Friday. WEM should have a good game with LeSueur-Henderson. I expect WEM to win, and finally play someone in state.

I agree but as I mentioned earlier, LSH is going with a different QB so things have a chance to play out differently. I take WEM over LSH 28-26. Big Dave2
They won the conference, got some under classmen in the game and nobody got hurt what more do you want. If LSH would have beat Belle Plaine, they would have had to share the conference. An undefeated season is a big deal to a graduating senior, as a player I would have not been happy if that is what really happened.
