It's that time of year again with one game under their belt. Who do you think will win your conference.

I will pick Norwood-Young America to win the MRC. LSH will maybe take 2nd. Sibley East and Belle Plaine will battle it out for the possible 3rd as long as LSH doesn't implode with injuries.

Big 9 conference here...Mankato West and Phillip Nelson will roll through the conference and go deep into the play-offs.

Looks like Rogers again in the Mississippi 8. Elk River at 2-0 has won more games than the previous two years combined.

The Southern Minnesota confrence might look a bit different with Springfield, CMC, and NU Cathedral graduating many kids from last year. I think so far Cathedral is 2-0, Springfield 1-1, and CMC 1-1?? Wabasso and St Mary's are up and coming.

I will agree with this entirely except that I hope BP can beat LSH at the end of the year because I work with a guy who lives in Henderson and has a son who plays B-squad so we have a bit of a rivalry going! I'm not going to hold my breath though.

LSH was going to be dropped to 2A this year. It doesn't appear that LSH will have the caliber of team next year that they've had in the past.

Once Montgomery-Lonsdale combines with Le Center, there will be another power house team to rival WEM and LSH.

Mankato west is stacked. Star QB and a defense to match. Do not even bother watching the other games. The starters have out scored thier opponents 101 to 7 in 2 halves of football.

crothmeier, our local CMC is now 0-3. Graduation hit very hard last spring, I am afraid it will hit basketball harder.

Wabasso is looking tough in the Southern C, it will probably be them, Cathedral and maybe Springfield.

Holy smokes Montgomery-Lonsdale is 2-0 . I won't give them more games than that this year. I also forgot to include Mayer Luthern in my earlier posts. I think they'll be ahead of BP and SE(based only on how the season has started).

Congrats to NYA on the victory yesterday. They performed as expected. Now we'll see if LSH can fend off the rest of the conference.

all i can share is about my sons jv team here in phoenix. he is the left tackle, and they have won all games but opener. he is 6ft1 220 and 15 yrs old. just spent 300 bucks on a new riddell helmet as the school offered one was too small and rode up on his high forehead. Great football got to love the fall.

LSH barely beat Watertown-Mayer tonight 26-25. I really questioned how the new team in the MRC was going to perform. I knew it would be close but gave the edge to WT-M.

I think Watertown/Mayer will end up being decent competition in our conference. They have probably been better than we think over the years but in that conference they were in with Glencoe and Hutchinson it would be tough for anyone to win.

In my area, Springfield has been a beast of a team for the last X number of years. Everyone else just tries to put on a good show. They lost a lot of good players in the last couple years, but they can still contend.

Elk River plays Rogers next week ER 5-1, R 6-0. Kare 11 is doing some voting on there web site to make it the game of the week feel free to go and vote for ER and Rogers as the game of the week. Game is in ER.

I agree Dave. I think they'll be great competition for years to come. Come next year, I'm afraid that LSH will be towards the bottom in the conference.

I went to watch Rochester century vs mankato west last night. West is a fun team to watch. Nelson is a stud. Big kid, big arm, fast as heck. Hard to believe anyone can slow down that offense. They did give up 200 yards rushing to an opposing back. It will be interesting to see how nelsons future goes in the big 10.

the elk river game last night was the best football games i have ever watched. those boys worked their butts off for every win this season.

Welcome to HSO BSully. I was on the 50 tucked up by the press box. Great seats and no wind:))I was a little concerned in the 1st 1/2 but man they put on a show the 2nd 1/2. They are really working well together with all the right people in the right positions. I've coached youth ball for 10 years now and I just really enjoy watching the Elks.

I was at the ER game too and they played hard but I think Rogers more shot themselves in the foot. Fumbled 2nd half kick return, should have taken a safety instead of getting the punt blocked near the end zone, sensitive refs calling 3 unsportsmanlike conducts, running into the punter.... ER was kinda lucky I thought, everything went their way at the end of the game. It was neat to see how excited the ER team and students were, even though my kid goes to Rogers. I didn't think he'd make that kick, but props. Hopefully they meet again in the play-offs, would be another great game.

I went to the norwood young america game on friday they sure made scoreing look easy against Watertown.Their offence and defence lines have some very big guys on them their going to hard to beat this this year.
