BANJO MINNOW

I have seen the tv add for the "banjo minnow" for a few weeks now. Has anyone in our area

used it? If so what were your success (or the lack of). Is this a good thing or just a

ripoff idea made for the eye of the fisherman, not the fish.....

I got it as a gift in my teens, used it alot never caught a fish on it. On the other hand, I think if you have a hungery fish they would eat just about anything

I bought it when it first came out (like 15 years ago) and I did well with it.

They do work well but I wouldn't throw out the rest of my tackle in exchange for them.

when i used it i did catch fish, might have to try it with a gulp minnow. the little rubberbands on the hooks can be tough with big fingers

I buy the Bango frogs by the dozen...one of my favorite frogs for bass and they/re very inexpensive....

They're just a nose-hooked jerkbait, nothing else. Frankly I kind of like the wider profile, great for fishing over predator's heads on a sunny afternoon.

Seriously, though, I have used them. And I have caught fish (while using them). But they did seem to me like a lot of futzing around to get a line in the water...

The Banjo Minnow is as close to a perfect artificial as you can get for the conditions Babe fishes them in. A white minnow in shallow dark bottom bay where Canandian pike are laid up in hordes.

Easy peasy.
