Bear license

Recommended Posts

So a phone call was made to the Number given on the bear lottery results page. This was to simply see if the most recent drawing could be trusted so a guy could get his vacation in. The phone was answered by a guy Named RON. Conversation went on and he asked for my info. I told him I was succesfull last year and got a bear. This is where it got ugly. He (RON) accused me of hunting and taking a big game without a license. I told him I got drawn and purchased a license registered the bear and everything. He said according to there system I didnt have a lisence and unless I could prove it I would be Getting charged with Illegaling hunting and taking a big game animal. At this point I was explaning that I already got my bear patch from the dnr and what not. He was very rude and said this is the fax number you need to prove you had a license or your getting charged. Thank god I found my License from last year and was able to fax it. Do I not deserve an apology from this guy named RON from the dnr???

Wow! We really need a new dnr in place and new people in charge! Too bad they are not elected officials. Seriously if any one of us ran a business this way it would go under. Imagine mcdonalds had one of these monopoly games go bad and too many people won, any way they could just yell Do over! Or acuse you of cheating... And yeah they do owe you an apology, they do have bad customer service like they are untouchable or are expected to be that way or we owe them, not the case we pay there wages between licences or taxes they need up too. I'm not talking the field staff so much I have always had good encounters with any dnr member at the landings or out hunting, its when you call or email them those staff members are [PoorWordUsage].

Wow, start going up the chain of command an file a complaint, not that it would do any good, but they have no right to accuse you of any thing based on a computer system that is faulty in the first place, Myabe you should accuse them of giving false information an putting a fix in a drawing that is otherwise regulated. But that probabley not the best thing to add to an already touchy situation, Poor ron, hes the guy that got put on the fone to answer all the public out cry calls on the botched lottery, he pi ssed somebody off in the office an this is his penence, did you get a lisence in 09? if not he's probabley still looking at that info that hasnt been remove d from the computer. WoW cant even call an ask questions.

Goose, speaking of the possible shutdown...how will that affect hunting and fishing license sales??? Will we still be able to purchase them or not? If I was anyone who got drawn in the bear lottery, I'd purchase my license right away! I think you can start on June 15th...but get it done before July 1st as you may not have a chance after that..."if" the shutdown also affects those sales.....

Well, I email the DNR yesterday about buying hunting and fishing licenses if there is a goverment shutdown. Here is the answer below.

Chris,

At this time we do not know what will be available. The following HSOforum has a lot of information about the process and it talks about a court orders and critical services.

Hope that helps.
