favorite bait and scent ..

Recommended Posts

Last year I tried something different, I got some distillers grain from an ethanol plant & mixed it with cookie dough (a seasonal favorite) and topped her off with grease. Seemed to work good cause they were in there all the time, day & nite. Opening nite a 350 lb boar came in and boom, I've still got some meat in the freezer.

Coca cola syrup on top of bread and pastries. This added with the right amount of gummie bears and candy corn seems to get the job done. And dont forget to throw deep fat fryer grease around the trees and ground each time. A way to let other bears know where the dinner table is.

French toast sounds great. I have had really good luck with Super America doughnuts. So so luck with Holiday doughnuts. French toast would be awesome with the vanilla and cinnamon smell.

I have been using more nuts and trail mix the last few years, with fryer grease around the bait and of course spray bottles with vanilla and anise.

One of my favs is burnt honey, im not talking the water waste from apperies, I was able to come across some actual honey that got burnt in the extracting proccess from the comb, an whole smokes,, my first big bear came off it, had hime coming in twice but about three days apart, while was gone little lesser came along an got his stash an when he returned the crib site looked like a bomb went off, huge logs throwen 10 rds away, made the hair on the back of my neck stand up, that burnt honey as a topping of the bait kept him comeing back everynight till opener an at 7 pm opening day he strolled in like john wayne, an kaboom! havent found the stuff since. Great site! Just got some carmel extreme and some bacon scent. I hope it does the trick this year. I have used just bakery good and frier oil in the past. I had plenty of hits but could not get them to come in during daylight.

cool beans, i have had great luck with the scent ball in bacon flavor. but there spendy if a bear gets ahold of it. Wat i like to do with the extreame is to mix it accordinly with grease an soak a bag of dog food or bread an pasteries, the hang high where they cant reach it, an everytime i bait i bring in a bucket of it an resoak the bag. it drips a big puddle an i toss gummy snaks on an around it an the bear get it all themselves an spead that extream all over the woods, same with the critters. good luck boar
