After using this line most of the winter and all this spring I can say I have a new favorite Superline. I was a hard core Power Pro fan but this Suffix 832 is the real deal. Casts great, smooth, very consistant from begining to end of spool and knot strength has been great. One thing I noticed is much less humming or whining on the rod guides when I reel in a fish. It also seems to hold less water wich was great for ice fishing and in the early spring cold.

Im going to put it through the big test this coming weekend during the MN. Fishing opener.

Its a 9 out of 10 on the Northlander scale. Only reason its not a 10 is its a tad bit thicker in the 10# test than the old Power Pro.

I've been using a lot of the 832 braid in 20#. The color was holding great for several fishing trips, until my last outing I really noticed a pale line for last several yards. So that's roughly about 50+ hours of coninous use on that one reel and line. No fraying noticed and I haven't stripped or retie a different lure on yet. I'm on a one hot lure run. In addition, I have not once even noticed line hum through the line guides. Usually that's something that I find quite distracting, but it helps that catching fish takes the focus off of that too.

I have been using the 832 in 80# for cat fishing. I have Suffix Performance braid on my other rods. Comparably I havent noticed much difference in casting, or catching. What I have noticed though is during a retie, you need to make sure you have a very sharp knife to cut it, or the inner core wont cut easily, and the outer braid frays. If you have a sharp knife, you wont notice any difference. We will see how well it holds up after a season or two on it before I switch all of my reels over to it.

I was told that the 832 suffix will hold its color better than Power Pro. Well after using it for 9 days since the opener it is a pale green and I have noticed a green tint on my right trigger finger were I hold the line. I expected more out of $20 line. I like the sensitivity and am able to detect light bites. I don't think I would buy it again.

You are correct. Im finding I really like the way the 832 fishes but it does seem to lose it color a bit faster. As long as it doesnt effect performance I really dont care about that though. As far as for trolling I think Im sticking to Power Pro because its a tad cheaper especially when filling bigger line counter reels. I will however use the 832 for my jigging and some rigging.

I've been using the 65lb on my Curado 200e7 for frogging and other heavier applications this spring and summer for bass/pike. I don't notice much of a difference for castability honestly, though I do feel like the 832 has a bit more of a memory than the PP I used to use. Good line for sure, but not sure its "better" than PowerPro. No fraying to speak of, top notch strength, and I haven't noticed too bad of a color bleed compared to other braids. All-in-all I think I'll stick with PowerPro for my other setups still until something different comes along that fills the niche where I like to use this heavier braid. Good line, but being more expensive, I can't validate the difference.

One note however, I don't recommend this line for topwater use on a regular basis. It DOES sink slowly and when you're casting a really long ways and hit some open water patches with that line, it tends to pull my frog under the pads or weeds that I otherwise wouldn't have trouble with dragging across the top with other braids. This aspect was a disappointment for sure.

I put it on my dock skipping spinning reel with a fluorcarbon leader. Worked pretty nice until my 5 yr old daughter accidently knocked my rod and reel in the water. She explained that it was an accident, and she knows how I feel. She dropped her Barbie pole in the water last year. She felt my pain. I didn't have the heart to tell her that my rig cost about $125. In any event, it's as good as any other braid, but nothing extraordinary.

Spooled 2 reels with it the other day and so far impressed, no bleeding, casts easy, no backlash issues, and nice and quiet thought the guides. So far liking it better than my old PP and replaced my Invisibraid on the 3rd reel this morn with it.

Well the rods I had strung up with the 832 in the spring are still going strong. No complaints and no real bad visible bleeding yet. Some but not any worse than my PP or old Fireline. I really like it on my jigging rods. On the rigging rod I like that its a bit quieter.

My first time using braid so I can't compare it to others. I spooled up my new C4 with it, the salesman preferred it over the others they had. I like it, it's some tuff stuff, casts well, quiet thru the guides, doesn't backlash like other lines I've had trouble with. If it does it's alot easier then other lines to untangle. The only thing I've noticed is that most of the color has bled out already (4 or 5 afternoons casting the weedlines). Pretty much white with a tint of green now, until you get down into the spool farther. Like the guides stripped off a coating or something. I guess I'm asking on that last one.

Well I broke down and spool up a reel with 10lb HiVis. I have used it a total of about 12 hours so far and am amazed at how it handles. It seemes to resemble mono on how it casts and feels. I have mainly been using it for casting cranks and pitching hairjigs to rocks. So far I can't see anything I don't like about it. I'm gonna spool another reel with 20lb to see how that works.

My first impression is a good one. I hope it continues.
