Sorry to be gross, but what animal dropped this off?

This is all over by our hunting land this spring, mostly by the river. I really don't know what kind of droppings these are. My best guess would be beaver, cause we have too many beavers running around there, but I don't remember seeing it in the past.

you know,i have been seeing the same thing when i have been out looking for sheds on my property.it is about 3/8ths in diameter and kinda golden brown.i was thinking maybe some bird but don't know.there is a river on the property but some of it is a ways away from it,i have seen a few porkys when i have been out could be from them i don't know.

Funny story... I went up into my big pine tree for opening morning of deer hunting in WI, way up there. It was still dark. I kept hearing something falling through the branches, even my branches bouncing down. It got light and I'm all alert and kept hearing this stuff dropping. I look up and sure enough, there is a giant porcupine 4 feet above me dropping his load. What are the chances right?

I tell the guys in camp and they asked if I shot it. From what they told me they are a real drag particularly on the big pines as they chew bark off in a circle around the tops of the tree, killing them..

that would be pretty lame to simply kill a porcupine for being a porcupine in nature, just sayin =)

sure hate to see the views on logging & human development since the porcupine is such a destructive enemy that it should be shot on site...
