Took in one HUGE bear this week

I got a call last Tuesday by Mr Rogers asking me to do some taxidermy work for him even tho we are on opposite sides of the collared bear fence..

On wednesday I met with him at the center and saw the little cub he wants mounted. Ive done other work for them in the past and I guess he liked it. Got to do a debate on issues with him infront of the film crew.Feed Ted and got a hug so now Im a bear hugger...

On Thursday got to assist with the necropsey with the state vet tech and CO in charge of the matter in my shop..

Now last night I spent 3 hours in my shop with Lynn and Sue disscussing the issues and giving them the skull and carcass to examine till I need it for casting...

I wont budge on my convictions, You should see thier eyes when ya stand ground. Its going to be a interesting and busy year till I get to mounting the cub. This will be the most veiwed mount I have ever done. You can bet over a 100G+ will see it in only a couple days.This will be my biggest challenge yet....

I have a unique opportunity to once again deal with them directly for the next year.

Guys Its not about a collar its about rights..

I call discussing things in person debating. When another person offers opinion its interjecting.I aint converting them, they aint converting me. Yet the opportunity to communicate is educational and interesting.

When I talked with lynn on Wednesday,need to clarify I never said they were rolling film just she was present. And while present I asked lynn the same questions anyone else would. In all honesty he had his veiws I still dont agree or understand some.

Been asked to do a mount for someone who has different beliefs than me. They trust me to do the best job possible and I will do my best. Just like when people have asked me to mount gun dogs "which I cannot do". As a hunter it was hard to work a tiny bear its youth and death so close,,as a taxidermist its a challenge..

Bussiness is Bussiness.

I do find it funny that some found the "fellowship of the crib" intimidating..It was just a name started as a joke on the lillypadders..

Pretty much whats written on Lilly is whats I was told.

I have a eater mounted sitting on my freezer with a bucket of dunkin doughnuts frosting in its lap and old display mount. They liked it and the work Ive done for him in the past its why he called me again. I am honored to get to do this tiny bear.Its waaaaay cool...

You bet Ill post pics. If all works out the way I want with the cub it should be ok. It had a vent cut up to the mid neck so I have to picky on what postion I do..

Its gonna be a while till I get to him.Got mounts scheduled to do that gotta go out before.....

Muthagoose what is the name of your business? I live in fayal and I know my taxidermist is trying to hang up his boots. Looking for another good local artist to bring my critters to.

LOL., some find The Fellowship of the Crib intimidating, Ha, just blew that name of the top my head trying to put together a icefishing gathering for us bearhunters an it stuck. Not to many sounded interested, but I showed up an won all the prizes, A truck an a 4 wheeler, two rifles, a double ladderstand, a moultrie sattilte camera system, an a jar of bacon grease. I really needed that bacon grease. Later boar

The fellowship met when I had to work and I cant skip a day or class gets ALL OUT OF WACK.....

birds,fish and smaller mounts now...

Hey Boar and fellow crib members. Maybe next winter we could try a fellowship gathering while doing some late March pike fishing. Try for some hopefully warmer weather. Something to ponder.

Nope, usually just driving though on the way to bear camp. Is that the taxidermy shop? So do you think you'll get the cub back from the dnr?

I have a few mounts displayed there. Dont advertise,referals been good and about a year out.

Otherwise Im gone to bear camp days before baiting starts...

The state allowed me to assist so I could retain the cub for the Orgs use, since Id been asked to do the mount.

Like I said its gonna take me a while to get to it and they aint in a big hurry....Ill post up when its done..
