Shallow cranks... Ya!

My order of Strike King just arrived. The new KVD 1.5 & 2.5 look really really good. I'm totally geeked with the new Bluegill color. The hue seems to change as you rotate the bait, hopefully it will do the same thing under the water.

Hiya -

I'm pretty jazzed about that color too, in both the 1.5 and 2.5, and the Series 5. I love bluegill patterns, and love translucent bodied baits. This one's both...

KVD 1.5s look like winners for sure. Strike King has really come out with some great stuff in the last few years.

Cheers,

Rob Kimm

I just ordered some last night altough I didn't get the bluegill pattern. I got some different sexy shad colors and am pumped to run those puppies through some shallow cover on pool 2 this spring.

Has anyone had consistent success on the Sexy Shad pattern up here on our waters? I have not, I kind feel like we don't really have anything the looks like that up here.

its a great color. plenty of shad in the Mississippi...

keep in mind we don't have firetiger, orange, pink, or clown colored fish swimming around, but those colors work great sometimes

About two weeks ago I bought a Salmo Hornet in the bluegill pattern. I have never used a Salmo product before but it is the BEST paint job I have ever seen on a crankbait for under 10 bucks so I had to buy it. Anybody use Salmos and what do you think of them????

I havent even started my spring splurge of new lures yet. that gets me way to excited about open water fishing! the new strikes kings look awesome. so ready for pool 2 to be fishable! last year was my first year fishing pool 2...it was definitely challenging but always fun to fish something differnt. So is the strike king 1.5 and 2.5 going to be everyones go to shallow crank? i use to go with the baby minus 1 a lot but i think i might have found a new one!

I too like the Manns minus ones. I like baby minus one earlier in the year and then the regular minus one later in the summer. I'll switch between the two from time to time when fishing 1-2 feet of water or over the top of vegetation and let the fish tell me which size works that day. I also change the trebles on my baby minus ones and put a feathered rear treble on the crank to add extra flash and side to side action. Seems to work. Bad part about these is that pike really seem to like them.
