TR21HP
Welcome to the world of pro football Lmitout. Its been that way forever and not just for the Steelers. I'm sure if Mathews has a chance to put out Big Ben he will as well. Unfortunately thats football.
LMITOUT
Harrison has the criminal record of bringing the cheap shots so it is what it is.

TR21HP
A criminal record Lmitout? You know as well as I that that is the Commissioner protecting quarterbacks. Your naivete is amusing though. The job of any defenseman out there is to deliver as hard a shot as possible to anyone on the offense. No one is out to injure someone but thats the nature of the game. It's an extremely violent game. I don't know if you've ever played the game or at what level, if you have you understand what I'm talking about. If you haven't I probably can't explain it to you. greebs
Harrison has been fined several times and called out on others for using his helmet to deliver hits, which is not a legal hit in the nfl. football is a violent game but harrison has gone too far too many times with using his helmet as a weapon. had the steelers played the vikes this year and put one of his famous head shots on favre, peterson, rice or one the other viking big names, there would be few here that would say he's just an innocent player who has been wrongly accused of dirty hits. Exactly. I love nothing better than a de-cleater, but leading with the helmet to intentionally take someone out is something completely different and is NOT the nature of the game....and Harrison has a history of cheap shots. If you believe that Harrison isn't head hunting then maybe someone else is the naive one here.I think most want to see the title game played heads-up with all the pieces in place to see who's the best. The game hasnt even happend yet your already loading the excuses. These are grown men. they dont need you feeling bad for them cause they may get hurt. maybe youd be more comfortable watching soccer. Steve Foss
The game hasnt even happend yet your already loading the excuses. Well, I for one will not make excuses for the Pack if the Steelers win. There are bad ref calls, goofy accidents and injuries. No doubt about it. But if a team is good enough on any given day, they'll win in spite of some things going against them. I won't be happy if my Pack loses, but I won't be one of those standing up and screaming foul excuses, either.GO PACK!!!!!!!!!!

TR21HP
Lmitout, You don't unlearn how to play football just because the Commissioner, under pressure from the owners to protect their commodities, decides to change the game. That is how you were coached to tackle and Greebs, if your thinking out there, you're in trouble because it's all instinct and reactions when you are playing a game that's that fast. Naive, Lmitout no just experienced in the game that's all. Helmet to helmet hits occur all the time in any game, it's hard to turn it off when that's how you've been taught all your life. LMITOUT
Quote:Pereira says officials won’t focus on James HarrisonAs the final game of the season in which the phrase “helmet-to-helmet” dominated the football lexicon, some are wondering whether the Super Bowl XLV crew will be keeping an eye on Steelers linebacker James Harrison.Former NFL V.P. of officiating Mike Pereira disagrees. Strongly.“I don’t care about James Harrison and nobody on that [officiating] crew cares about James Harrison, quite frankly,” Pereira told Chris Russo of Sirius Mad Dog Radio. “You know, everybody from our side is kind of tired of hearing his comments. They’re going to officiate the game.So why is this even a story? Maybe because he has a reputation, perhaps? Oh, that's right, he can't just "turn it off". Gimme a freakin break. Actually the helmet to helmet hits do not occur that often. Its not like there's been fines handed out after every game. There are just those that use there helmets illegally more than others. Harrison is one of them. If he's been playing that way since he was a kid his jr fb coach wasn't a very good coach.
jjjohnson
The only reason you hate him is cause hes gonna put a hurtin on your pansy QB. If he played for the pack youd be defending him. Plain and simple. Now MAN UP! and GO Steelers!

Steve Foss
Why do they let people sing our national anthem like that at big events? Such a disgrace! Yeah. It ain't the reason for the game, but dayum if it doesn't underpin the whole thing. Just once these days I'd like to hear the National Anthem sung straight up by someone with a powerful and subtle voice. Meanwhile, GO PACK!!!!
