MN Bull Elk Found...

Recommended Posts

Its just sad that people dont see the facts. Ryan and David (the guy he was with) are some of the biggest road hunters in Kittson county. You can see them almost every morning in Davids silver dodge cummins. And that morning was no different. I heard from the farmers who found it (my neighbors and good friends) that they saw him out there hunting that day and watched them take the primers out of there guns while they were there. Then he trespassed to get to the state land where the animal was. Ryan should lose his hunting rights for life and the DNR should reclaim that animal and give it to the people who deserve it.

Who needs soap operas when you have this kind of drama. whistle

Put me the camp that would sell the rack and get a replica, I'm not some greedy monster, its just that if a rack on the wall can help pay for my kids education then that is what it is going to do.

I don't know. It sounds like these people know each other and its between them.

I just can't get over the fact its the 4th largest rack of all time and it was right up in NW Minnesota. You know hpw many people go into the Rockies spending there time and money to try with ALOT of luck to get a shot at something close to this. Not to sound too corny but it feeds your imagination for whats possible.

Well in the state of Minnesota he will not be able to sell it for a profit. It is illegal. He doesnt deserve the rack. If you look at a map you can see the road he is on dead ends and it surrounded by all private land. They had no rights being there. Look at this map that I attached and you can see where it happened. He was a road hunter. Look at the time he rolled up and the location. Last day of muzzleloading and they are huge road hunters. He doesnt deserve the rack or the credit.

so he had no right to sit on the road and watch the elk from the road?

There are always two sides to each argument. did any of the private land owners call the sherrif about this guy trespassing? The DNR has never claimed that this animal was shot or poached in any way.

obviously you have a history with this guy and you have made yor feelings known today.

Powerstroke...I agree...I also don't know of any law that states you can't drive or sit on a public road dead end or otherwise just because it is surrounded by private land...And what's wrong with road hunting?? It's just a faster way to cover ground for spot and stalk hunters! crazy Oh, I forgot...we already had the road hunting discussion earlier. eek

the DNR confiscated the rack and did an investigation, gave it back finding no reason for him not to have the rights to it. like what was said earlier, it's jealousy or maybe weiner envy.

|whats up with the bad rap for hunting the last day of muzzleloader? i did.

Me too and December 12th I'll never forget taking easily my largest muzzy buck to date, thank goodness the snowline was about 10 miles from where I hunt or I wouldn't have gotten out. Took 29 sits before I saw a mature buck and had all but burned my tag for the year.

Im not jealous that he has it because I wouldnt have it anyways. I also know that there is nothing I can do about the matter it just bothers me how many people come into our area to break the laws while we ethical hunters sit here doing things the right way and this guy is getting paid to take this thing to shows and getting lots of fame for something he does not deserve. The road he was on isnt really a road its a driveway into an old farm yard another half mile back. Im not saying he couldnt be there to watch I am just saying it is wrong for him to come here and do illegal things and to take all of the fame for it.

Also : I have seen the video that that kid was taking. It is a great piece of footage.

Again: I never said anything about hunting on the last day of muzzleloader season is wrong I was just asking why they (Well known road hunters) were unloading there guns in the pickups on the last day of season.Clearly they were hunting when they were there.
